Plastic carrying cases with foam
If you need to protect and safely transport items that are important to your business, you should be using carry cases.
Carry cases can take many forms, although they are typically made from plastic or metal. Plastic carrying cases are commonly used by businesses to transport tools, equipment or product samples. Features such as handles, secure catches and even foam inserts are commonplace.
At GWP, we can offer your business the most comprehensive range of carry cases from a single UK supplier. From fully waterproof cases to lightweight plastic and soft shell sample cases, you can source a carrying case perfect for your specific application. You can also source custom foam inserts from us to improve protection and presentation further.
Lightweight plastic carry cases
You can source a range of lightweight plastic carry cases, perfect for storing and transporting product samples and lower-value tools and equipment.
Protective carry cases
A range of medium-duty protective carry cases offers robust performance and protects valuable tools and equipment during handling and transit.
Hard plastic carry cases
Hard plastic carry cases, also commonly referred to as waterproof cases, provide the highest physical protection for high-value items and keep them safe from dust and moisture.
Metal carry cases
Metal carry cases, such as those manufactured using aluminium, balance durability, longevity and ease of use.
More info
As the classification of carry case is relatively broad, it can mean different things to different businesses, industry sectors or even groups of consumers.
One of the most common uses for carrying cases is as sales rep sample cases. Often referred to as sales demo cases or even presentation cases, these cases are used to present new product samples to potential customers in meetings and sales pitches.
The lightweight plastic carrying case options are particularly suited for this as they allow easy handling while balancing performance and cost. They can be particularly cost-effective as they do not need to provide high levels of protection if used for this purpose.
Heavy-duty carry cases
At the other end of the scale, some carry cases must provide high protection levels.
Service engineers or technicians frequently take tools and equipment out onto the site, and it is imperative that this (often expensive) equipment does not become damaged.
As a result, many professionals use hard plastic carrying cases as waterproof equipment cases. Options include those from Explorer, Nanuk and, of course, the well-known Peli™ brands.
However, an increasing number of cases, such as the WAG Heavy range, bridge the gap between lightweight plastic cases and more durable equipment cases.
Carry cases FAQs
What can I use carry cases for?
Carry cases can be used for a wide range of uses. Applications include everything from use as salesman sample cases to medical equipment storage and even for use as heavy-duty equipment cases. Therefore, you should determine the carry case you require by its intended use.
What are carry cases typically made from?
The vast majority of carry cases supplied by GWP are made from plastic. But even with the range of plastic carry cases available, there are options for low-cost, lightweight carry cases all the way through to extra-tough waterproof variants. There are also soft shell and fabric options for more specialist requirements.
I need a heavy-duty case – are these carry cases suitable?
The range of IP-rated, waterproof cases is a great choice for protecting expensive, specialist, delicate, or highly calibrated equipment. Combined with custom foam inserts, these hard plastic carry cases provide the highest levels of protection and can eliminate the potential for accidental damage to your items.
Can I source a carry case with foam inserts?
You can choose to enhance all of the carry cases currently available with bespoke foam inserts. Tailored to your specific tools, products, samples, or equipment, the foam can be used for enhanced protection—effectively absorbing shock—or improved appearance (or both). Foam inserts can also help with quicker identification of parts or highlight any products or equipment missing from the case through the use of shadow foam.
Can I print onto my carry cases?
Depending on the type of carry case selected, it is usually possible to print or add branding to it. Plastic cases from Hofbauer, WAG, Maxado, and Rose Plastic typically feature smooth surfaces (perfect for adding print or labels directly), while some can even have detailed designs moulded into the case during manufacture (in-mould labelling).
Can I have a fully custom carry case?
If none of the “off the shelf” carry case options are precisely what you are looking for, then GWP can manufacture bespoke cases for your business. Options include the N Case ranges, essentially small-scale flight cases. They offer bespoke sizes and a wide range of fittings and options (catches, handles, locks, panel material, etc.) besides the standard print and foam lining.
