Storm Cases

Reduce the costs of transit damage and improve end user satisfaction with Storm Cases and foam inserts

Protecting from water and dust ingress (being IP67 Rated), as well as from mishandling and impact, Peli Storm cases with foam inserts can completely eliminate transit damage. This, in turn, reduces your associated costs, including the need for returns and replacements, as well as ensuring projects are completed on time thanks to critical items arriving undamaged.

Besides this, you can increase end user satisfaction through reliable supply, enhance the perception of your business and, ultimately, improve your business performance through reliable supply that leads to repeat business.

I need to carry all sorts of fragile and sensitive equipment, from comms gear to cameras to medicines. Without the Storm cases, I would not only have risked damaging important kit, I could imperil an entire expedition. The cases were light, strong & reliable, a real must-carry.

Eric Phillips | Polar Guide, Walking With The Wounded

Storm Cases eliminate the costs of transit damage through:

  • Stopping damage to items caused by water, dust or moisture
  • Ultra tough HPX resin exterior shell which protects against mishandling
  • Vortex pressure relief valve to equalise pressure in and outside the case
  • Pad-lockable mouldings to also eliminate theft
  • Specific bezels and mounting kits to house delicate/expensive electronics safely
  • Custom engineered foam inserts that offer calculated cushioning protection against impact

Improve end user and / or customer usability with:

  • Having tools, equipment and products arrive undamaged
  • Colour coded foam inserts to allow for easier part/tool identification
  • Carry on approved for security/safety during international travel
  • Press and pull catches that will not become brittle or snap at low temperatures
  • Comfortable soft grip handles and inline wheels on larger cases to aid manual handling

Enhance your business and sales by:

  • Improved business reputation and perception through reliable supply (leading to repeat business)
  • Eliminating project delays and downtime caused by items damaged in transit
  • External printing, coloured foam and other options to enhance brand awareness

Features of Storm Cases that improve ease of use

Besides the exterior HPX resin outer shell that offers such exceptional performance in protecting against water, dust and impact, Peli Storm Cases also offer a wide range of additional features to improve usability and end user satisfaction.

For example, the “press and pull” latches, unique to Storm cases, will not become brittle or snap at low temperatures, whilst the soft grip handle and inline wheels on larger cases also improve manual handling of the case, even when fully loaded. All of this increases the efficiency and usability for your customer employees on site.

Peli Storm Cases can also help reduce the costs associated with theft or loss of items. This can be through the ability to padlock the case, or with many of the cases being ATA approved to be carried onto most commercial aircraft (ensuring the case and contents are not separated from the owner when placed in the hold).

All of this is complimented by a full manufacturers lifetime guarantee (as found on all Peli Cases too). This means that should the case be damaged in any way – a feat in itself – it will be replaced or repaired free of charge. So besides reducing the costs incurred through transit damage, the free repairs/replacements also ensure minimised “lifetime” costs when purchasing these cases.

Customisation options to improve protection and usability

The enhancement that can vastly improve the already impressive performance of Storm cases is specifying bespoke foam inserts. Created from Plastazote and tailored exactly to your products, it is possible to create cushioning protection to precisely calculated levels. As such, this completely eliminates transit damage, reducing the costs of returns, improving end user satisfaction, enhancing the perception of your business and ultimately improving sales (repeat business through reliable supply).

Another benefit of using foam inserts can be seen through improving the efficiency of the end user. This can be achieved through labelling the foam with laser etched instructions or part numbers, or the use of contrasting coloured foams to quickly highlight if individual tools, products or equipment or missing from the case (this also helps to minimise items being lost or left on site, again reducing the costs of replacements).

As well as foam, however, you can specify external print and branding for the exterior of your Peli Storm cases (and indeed any of the other waterproof cases available). This can be anything from your logo (providing additional brand exposure and awareness) all the way through to adding instructions, batch or part numbers to aid traceability or improve efficiency for you, your employees or customers.

Besides this, however, there is a range of standard enhancements. This includes Bezel kits which allow for mounting of electronic and communications devices directly into the case. These not only eliminate movement within the case during transit, preventing damage but can also improve usability on site (the case is effectively used as a stand for the mounted items). Divider sets and organisers can also be included for specific applications, whilst shoulder straps offer improved user comfort when carrying cases over large distances.

Case Study: Storm Cases aid Royal Challenge

There is perhaps no environment more unforgiving than the sub zero temperatures of the Antarctic. But this is exactly what twelve wounded servicemen – accompanied by Prince Harry – faced when they took part in Walking With The Wounded’s Virgin Money South Pole Allied Challenge last December. The expedition saw three teams of wounded servicemen and women race 335km to the South Pole.

All participants needed to carry with them valuable possessions and equipment such as personal cameras and satellite phones, which had the potential to be damaged through shock, impact, moisture ingress and general mis-handling, not to mention the extreme temperatures.

When first given the case, I thought to myself, do I really need this extra weight? Once in Antarctica, the answer was a resounding yes. The protection it provided was exceptional.

Chris Downey | Team Solder One

GWP Protective donated 30 Storm Cases to the charity, which raises funds to train the wounded, injured and sick, assisting them to find a career outside the Military. After four weeks and approximately 200km, all of the teams and participants in the Virgin Money South Pole Allied Challenge arrived at the South Pole. Reaching the bottom of the world at 12:48pm GMT on Friday 13 December.
