Lightweight Plastic Totes

Economy tote boxes

If your business requires a cost-effective handling solution, lightweight plastic totes made from Correx® and Q Grip handles are among the most cost-effective options.

Lightweight plastic totes are durable, low-cost handling containers. They use a combination of 4mm single-skin Correx® material and moulded plastic handles. The unique Q Grip handles also allow for semi-bespoke sizes, easy handling and safe stacking. Lightweight packaging totes are also surprisingly durable and long-lasting, making them suitable for eCommerce, retail and manufacturing applications.

Our team of experts and award-winning designers can produce an economy tote box or alternative handling solution to the exact size, strength and design your business requires. We can customise it with a range of features, including dividers and printing. And we can advise you on the best option for your specific application.

Assembly

Firstly, the die cut Correx® material is folded as if assembling the tote/container

The side components are adjusted to the required packaging width and are then located on the tote corners.

The handle is placed on top of both the side components and is then folded over them.

The teeth from both the handle and side components interlock when folded and secure the three components together, preventing them coming apart.

The final step of the assembly process ends with the front and rear handle being pushed together. The cantilever snap features built into the hand holes locate, fixing the handle securely.

FAQs

What applications are lightweight plastic totes suitable for?

You can use lightweight plastic totes for several different applications. They are ideal for moving lighter parts around manufacturing and production facilities or for storage on assembly lines. They are also commonly used for order picking and eCommerce fulfilment.

What are lightweight plastic totes manufactured from?

The main assembly of lightweight plastic totes uses Correx®. Correx® is a fluted polypropylene material (also known as corrugated plastic or “plastic cardboard”) that offers good strength and durability. It is also possible to fabricate Correx® in a similar manner to corrugated cardboard. Lightweight plastic totes combine this material with the moulded plastic Q Grip handle.

What is the Q Grip handle?

The Q Grip system enables the manufacture of cost-effective, high-performance totes with handles in a range of sizes. Q Grip achieves this size flexibility using three unique components: two end sections and the handle. The end sections are spaced at various lengths apart, and the handle is then fastened centrally over the two ends to secure them in place.

Why should I use custom-sized totes?

Custom-sized totes provide several benefits. For example, eliminating wasted space inside the tote box reduces storage requirements at your factory or warehouse (or maximises the use of limited space). The same also applies to the transit of your totes, particularly if you ship parts, components, or completed products to different production locations as part of a larger supply chain. During transit or handling, custom sizes tailored to your parts or products also minimise the movement of the contents, providing improved protection.

Can lightweight plastic totes include dividers or inserts?

You can enhance any plastic tote box with various inserts. Options include Correx® division setslayer pads, vacuum-formed trays, and engineered foam dunnage. Inserts can help protect products during handling and transit and assist production and/or warehouse staff with loading and unloading.
