Description
Detailed information on Gift Box Foam
Whether sending promotional packs as part of a B2B campaign, or for use in gift boxes that go directly to end consumers, using foam inserts for your gift packs can elevate the presentation, visual appearance and protection of your offering.
Manufactured from a durable yet high quality Plastazote® polyethylene foam, advanced conversion processes ensure smooth surfaces with accurately cut profiles that are perfectly shaped to the contents of your cardboard gift boxes. Plus, due to achieving very tight tolerances, the foam will also be a perfect fit for your outer pack too.
Add in a wide choice of colours (well over 20, dependent on the grade required) and the ability to laser cut branding and logos directly onto the foams surface, and gift box inserts provide ample opportunity to enhance brand recognition and recall.
Foam protection and advantages
However, beyond providing enhanced appearance for your gift box contents, presentation foam also has a number of other benefits too.
This includes providing a high level of protection during transit. Gift box foam not only prevents items moving within the outer pack when being shipped or handled but also provides cushioning from any shock, impact and vibration too.
The Plastazote® foam used is also completely inert, meaning it will not react with any products and / or leave staining or marking on product surfaces (the surfaces actually help to prevent marks and scuffs). It is also odourless and UV resistant (meaning colours will not fade over time).
All this adds up to mean that gift box foam is a great way to enhance any cardboard, wooden, metal (i.e. tins) or rigid paper gift boxes

FAQs
Common questions about foam packaging
If your business uses or needs gift box foam, then the answers to these commonly asked questions may prove useful.
If however you need other info GWP can still help – just pick up the phone or drop us an email and we’ll be happy to advise.
Will this foam fit my existing gift boxes?
Your gift box foam can be manufactured to any size, shape and specification. This applies not only the profiles cut within the foam, but also the overall size of the foam insert itself. Being able to achieve very exacting tolerances also means a great fit between your foam and the outer gift box.
Can you supply the outer wooden boxes / tins etc.?
Whilst GWP can supply a range of outer cases and corrugated packaging that may be suitable for specific applications, we do not directly manufacture presentation tins, jewellery boxes or wooden outer packaging. However, GWP have a number of businesses that we can recommend for you to source these products (or we can of course do this for you).
What colour gift box foam is available?
Plastazote® – the foam usually used for gift box inserts – is available in over 20 colours. Whilst this means your specific brand colour cannot be matched exactly (i.e. Pantones), it does mean that there is a suitable set of colours for virtually every business / brand.
Can these be tailored to complex shapes for specific products?
Even if you are presenting very complex items or products within your gift boxes, the foam insert can be tailored to be a perfect fit. This is achieved using specialist equipment that used to capture a 3D model of your items, with this information then transferred onto the latest CAD systems for designing and manufacturing. This means these types of foam are also commonly used for sample presentation too.
Will gift box foam give off any smell?
The foam used for manufacturing gift box inserts is completely inert and odourless (there would obviously be nothing worse than an unboxing experience ruined by a chemical or unusual smell upon opening a gift box).
