Correx® Gable Boxes

Plastic carrier boxes

Regardless of your sector, products or application, Correx® gable boxes are a surprisingly versatile option for your packaging.

Gable boxes feature a distinctive triangular top with integral handle. The self-locking base, similar to crash lock boxes, makes them quick and easy to assemble. While cardboard gable boxes are popular, using Correx® provides additional strength, durability and reusability. As such, Correx® gable boxes are ideal for gift boxes, food delivery, and carry boxes for samples, clinical waste, and even live animals.

At GWP Correx, we have extensive experience in manufacturing all types of Correx® boxes, bins, totes and more. Our in-house experts provide an end-to-end service, meaning you benefit from a bespoke Correx® gable box tailored to your requirements.

FAQs

What are gable boxes?

Gable boxes, like Correx® briefcase boxes, are effectively a plastic carrier box with an integral handle. The box closure is also fully integrated, with two slits that let you push tabs through to secure the contents. They also typically feature a self-locking “envelope” base (similar to crash lock boxes) that requires no glue or tape.

Are cardboard or Correx® gable boxes more suitable for my business?

You should consider Correx® gable boxes for applications that require increased strength, durability, or longevity. They are also more suited to medical or cleanroom use as they are easy to clean and do not shed fibres. However, if you intend to use your gable boxes for single-use, corrugated packaging would be a more cost-effective option.

Are Correx® gable boxes suitable for food delivery?

Your business can utilise Correx® gable boxes for food and drink delivery in a similar manner to Correx® moped boxes. They are particularly suited to where delivery staff retain the boxes for repeated reuse (i.e. not left with the customer).

Can gable boxes be used to transport animals?

With the addition of air holes, Correx® gable boxes are suitable for use by veterinary surgeries and wildlife rescue charities as animal and pet carriers. Their strength and durability – as well as easy-to-clean surfaces – make them ideal for transporting small animals.

Are Correx® gable boxes suitable for clean room applications?

Your organisation can use virtually any Correx® box for clean room applications. This suitability stems from their easy cleaning and sterilisation, alongside not shedding fibres that could potentially contaminate samples.
