Description
Detailed information on Correx® plastic gable boxes
Correx® gable boxes – effectively an all-in-one carry box with an integral handle and self-locking base – are arguably the most versatile of any Correx® box.
Often used as a gift box for added value retail packaging (i.e. where the end-user retains the pack for ongoing storage of the product), you can even use them for the safe transit of samples or even in the storage of specialist tools and equipment. These carry boxes are also often used for food delivery (similar to the Correx® moped boxes)
Besides this, as the Correx® material used to manufacture these plastic gable boxes does not shed fibres and – crucially – is easy to clean, their use is commonplace in medical and clean room settings.
Applications of this type can include use for the safe transport of samples, clinical waste, or even in veterinary surgeries. With air holes, you can also use these for transporting small pets and wildlife.
Their durability and longevity also ensure that your business can reuse your Correx® gable boxes many times (typically well over 100 uses) and benefit from considerably improved protection compared to corrugated cardboard packaging.
Custom plastic carry boxes
As with the majority of Correx® boxes available, you can specify and choose from a wide range of custom options when sourcing your plastic carry boxes.
First, and most obviously, the use of Correx® allows you to specify the exact size gable box required. No more having to select the nearest-sized box, which is nearly always too big.
Besides this, you can choose from a range of bright colours (plus black, white, and silver) and add printed branding and information. Print can range from simple one-colour logos added via screen print to full-colour, digitally printed graphics.
You can also customise the inside of your carry boxes.
Interior options can include removable divider sets that help separate items during transit, minimising damage. Foam lining and inserts can also be specified to hold items in place and add cushioning protection.
As with Correx® briefcase boxes, you can select from different handle designs and add windows and cut-outs to showcase the contents (used for retail applications).
You can even decide whether to have your Correx® gable boxes supplied flat for reduced space and transport requirements (you can easily erect them at your business) or fully assembled to save time and effort.

FAQs
Questions regarding Correx® carry boxes
Not sure whether Correx® gable boxes are a good option for your business?
The following section answers some of the most common questions regarding these boxes.
What are gable boxes?
Gable boxes are effectively a carry pack (similar to Correx® briefcase boxes) with integral handles. The closure for the boxes is also fully integrated, with two slits that allow you to push through tabs to secure the contents. They also typically feature a self-locking “envelope” base (similar to crash lock boxes) that requires no glue or tape.
What are these carry boxes used for?
Correx® carry boxes are popular for many applications, including gift boxes, value-added retail packaging, and even food and drink delivery. As they do not shed fibres and are easy to clean, you can also use them for medical and veterinary applications.
Can I have printing on my Correx® gable boxes?
Printed gable boxes can be an excellent option for your business. Your carry boxes can include your logos and branding, handling instructions, product details, and even warnings or health and safety info. You can typically add print through simple screen or direct digital print methods.
Why should I use Correx® instead of cardboard gable boxes?
You should consider Correx® gable boxes for applications requiring increased strength, durability or longevity. They are also more suited to medical or clean room use as they can be easily cleaned and do not shed fibres. However, if the gables boxes are intended for single use, then corrugated packaging would be a more cost-effective option.
Are these suitable for takeaways and food delivery?
Your business can utilise Correx® gable boxes for food and drink delivery in a similar manner to Correx® food delivery boxes (e.g. Deliveroo boxes). This would only be the case, however, if the seller retains the boxes for repeated reuse (i.e. not left with the customer).
Can these be used by vets (i.e. as pet carriers)?
With the addition of air holes, Correx® gable boxes can are suitable for use by veterinary surgeries and wildlife rescue charities as animal and pet carriers. Their strength and durability – as well as being easily cleaned – make them suitable for small animals.
Are these suitable for cleanroom applications?
Your organisation can use virtually all Correx® boxes for clean room applications. This suitability is because they can be easily cleaned and sterilised, but also due to the fact they do not shed fibres that could contaminate samples etc. (as cardboard would).
