Official UK distributors of Nanuk cases
Source custom Nanuk cases with foam inserts for your business
Nanuk cases (pronounced Na nook) are a popular Peli case alternative. Nanuk cases absorb shock, resist being crushed, and are fully waterproof (IP67 rated), thanks to the NK-7 resin used in their manufacture. Available in 29 sizes and up to 10 colours, Nanuk cases are perfect for protecting high-value tools and equipment.
Although there is a wide selection of choices when sourcing waterproof cases, Nanuk cases are still regarded as one of the best options for many applications. So if you or your team are military, industrial, marine or diving professionals, first responders, or are involved in almost any industrial sector, you’ll know that Nanuk cases are ideal for the protection of tools or equipment.
Boasting an incredibly tough outer shell and – crucially – offering a vast range of options and features as standard, Nanuk cases combine the best elements of other protective cases and offer them at very competitive price points. Your business can source Nanuk cases with custom foam inserts from GWP Protective – an official UK distributor.
Why use Nanuk cases?
Durable waterproof equipment cases packed with innovation and features
Despite being amongst the newer waterproof case options, Nanuk cases have quickly carved out an excellent reputation.
Frequently used in the rescue sector, marine transportation, and diving industries (as well as a broad range of industrial applications), Nanuk cases are ideal for any application where protection of tools or equipment is required.
The advanced NK-7 resin used to manufacture the cases is impact-resistant, lightweight, and boasts thick, strong walls. They are also completely water and dust-proof, being IP 67 rated.
Perhaps their most significant advantage over some of their more established rivals is the number of standard features that are optional extras (at additional cost) on most other cases. As a result, this makes them incredibly cost-effective.
Another notable benefit of Nanuk cases is their wide range of colour options, with up to ten different hues available.
Of course, Nanuk cases offer all of the features and performance expected from this type of case. Features include comfortable handles, pressure relief valve, inline wheels on larger cases, integral lid stay and a durable “power claw” latch system. And finally, all Nanuk cases come with a limited life-time warranty, the same as Peli cases.
Nanuk case features
A wide range of features as standard compared with similar cases
Power claw latch
The power claw latching system is one of the most secure of any protective case, effectively stopping Nanuk cases from opening accidentally and spilling their contents (even if dropped). It is also easy to operate and helps maintain the fully waterproof seal provided by the cases.
Appearance
Not a feature as such – but certainly a noteworthy point – is that Nanuk cases feature a distinct design. The style incorporates clean lines, chamfered edges, and smooth corners to create a unique appearance. The external surfaces of the case allow for branding/printing too.
Panel mount / bezel
With most waterproof cases, adding electronic equipment requires a separate bezel kit (which, asides from the cost, can also affect water resistance and performance). Nanuk cases provide a top and bottom mounting strip as standard so that electronics can be easily mounted.
Pressure relief valve
Changes in altitude, temperature and humidity can create a “vacuum lock”, which can effectively seal a case shut. The integrated auto-pressure valve equalises this atmospheric pressure difference using a micro vent that allows air to pass through while preventing water from entering.
Waterproof seal
The design of the case and the interior mouldings helps to create a completely watertight seal. In fact, the cases are IP67 rated.
Padlock loops
The metal reinforced padlock holes allow you to lock the cases for added security (including with TSA locks for international travel)
Soft grip handle
The soft grip handle is comfortable, even with a fully loaded case, over long distances. It is also spring-loaded to minimise space when in transit.
Wheels
Smooth running polyurethane wheels (similar to those on roller blades) allow for much easier movement of large Nanuk cases. All cases with wheels also include a retractable handle.
Custom Nanuk cases
Improve the performance of your equipment cases with a range of options and accessories
Adding custom foam inserts – manufactured from Plastazote and tailored to your specific equipment – eliminates damage and helps with organisation.
A lower-cost alternative to bespoke foam is simple foam lining – providing adequate cushioning protection for more robust tools and equipment.
Print and branding
It is possible to add printed branding to Nanuk cases (through screen or digital print), allowing you to add logos, part numbers, handling instructions and other helpful info.
Padded dividers
Standard padded dividers for Nanuk cases are a low-cost option for basic protection and low volumes (high-value or delicate equipment requires custom foam).
Cubed foam
Cubed foam – also called “Pick N Pluck” – is ideal for low volume requirements (e.g. one or two cases) where semi-bespoke levels of protection are required.
Shoulder strap
Shoulder straps can be attached to the smaller cases to assist with handling (please note larger cases feature wheels and telescopic handles).
Bespoke foam inserts
Available for all cases
Foam inserts can be added to any protective case, including the full Nanuk range

Nanuk case performance and testing
Military standard testing results and accreditations
Alongside their impressive range of features, Nanuk cases have also undergone extensive testing to military standards.
Certification includes ASTM vibration and drop tests, plus ATA category 1 impact (falling dart) test, to demonstrate the toughness and durability of the cases. In addition to this, Nanuk cases have an operating temperature range of 67°F (-55°C ) to158°F (70°C).
Nanuk cases pass the ASTM simulated rainfall test and the MIL-STD immersion test. Alongside the IPX7 protection from water and IP6X dust/ingress protection ratings, this indicates the level of protection from water and dust that Nanuk cases provide.
Nanuk cases are also ATA certified as suitable for a minimum of 100 airline trips.
And finally, all Nanuk cases are supplied with a full manufacturer’s lifetime guarantee.

What Nanuk case alternatives are there?
Nanuk cases are a direct competitor to the most popular waterproof cases currently available (arguably the Storm Case™ and Peli™ brand cases). Other options include Explorer, SKB, B&W and Hardigg. With all these cases providing similar performance, choosing one usually comes down to budget, features and available sizes/colours.
Why should I use Nanuk cases?
One of the key selling points of Nanuk cases is the number of features included as standard (which, on other cases, need to be specified at additional cost). The primary examples are the integral bezel kit, the lid stay and wide colour choice.
For what applications are Nanuk cases suitable?
Nanuk cases are suited to a range of industries and applications. Their use is popular with (but not limited to) photographers, videographers, drone operators/pilots, sports equipment, police and emergency services, military, medical professionals, and many others. Any delicate, expensive or irreplaceable item benefits from the protection offered by these cases.
What colour Nanuk cases are available?
Nanuk cases are available in one of the broadest colour ranges of any waterproof case. Hues available include black, orange, yellow, silver, graphite, tan, blue and red.

If your business is looking to source Nanuk cases (or Peli, Storm, Explorer, B&W etc.), then you can select from the full range by working with GWP.
However, whilst choosing a suitable outer case is essential, getting the correct foam inserts can be equally critical. These can provide the exact level of protection you require.
Yet it can seem a hassle having to source case and foam from separate suppliers and can often result in issues with fit, compatibility and quality.
Working with GWP Protective allows you to avoid these issues. In essence, you can source your case and foam together, reducing costs and improving quality.
Couple this with the most comprehensive range of branded cases – plus custom-built options and completely impartial advice on the best one for your specific requirements – and GWP becomes your one-stop shop regardless of the protective case solution you require.
