Description
Detailed information on Divided Pick Bins
Divided picking bins are effectively extended shelf bins with a number of internal partitions. Whilst this may sound like a relatively simple product, it does offer a number of benefits for any business with a requirement for part / product storage and retrieval.
Key amongst these is the ability to be able to keep related products – such as the same component or product in different colours or sizes – within the same outer picking bin but segmented by their specific variants.
This can not only aid organisation (and quick visual stock checks), but can also help improve productivity of order pickers, and efficiency of staff working on production lines.
As with the regular shelf and stacking pick bins offered at GWP, these divided pick bins are typically manufactured from Correx®. This makes then strong and durable, as well as providing an extended lifespan. They are also resistant to moisture, oil, grease and most chemicals.
However, these bins can also be created in corrugated cardboard as required. Whilst this material will offer less strength and longevity, it provides a cost effective alternative for light use applications.
Correx® Divided Pick Bin Options
Regardless of the material chosen, you can choose from a number of different colours, plus have the ability to add external print, label areas and so on.
Going beyond this however, GWP will in fact manufacture your divided pick bins to perfectly match your specific application / intended use.
This means sizes to perfectly fit your racking or workspace, and a number of dividers that will be tailored to the nature of your product inventory. The dividers can also be fixed or removable, allowing you even greater flexibility.
All of this ensures that divided pick bins allow your business to maximise storage space, improve your picking processes, and ultimately improve your efficiency and productivity.

Common questions on Divided Bins
Have a question about Pick Bins with dividers? Then you are in the right place!
Please see below for a list of commonly asked questions, or call 01793 754 457 / email correx@gwp.co.uk if you haven’t been able to find the answer you need.
What size are these divided pick bins?
The divided pick bins – whether manufactured from either Correx® or corrugated carboard – can be designed and manufactured to any size required. There are a number of other custom features you can choose as well, including number of dividers, colours, print and more.
Will these bins fit my existing racking?
Divided picking bins supplied by GWP will be manufactured to your exact specifications. This means you can tailor them to be a perfect fit for any existing racking, shelving or work stations that you are currently using. Alternatively, they can be tailored to your product inventory or manufactured to industry standard sizes – whichever you choose.
How many dividers / compartments can these bins have?
As with dimensions, because these picking bins are manufactured to your chosen requirements, you can also specify the number of compartments / dividers within your bins. This allows you to keep all items within a specific range / collection within a set number of bins if required.
Can divided pick bins be stacked?
The standard design of divided pick bins does not allow for the containers to be stacked. However, it is possible to specify stacking pick bins that can have dividers added should this be a requirement. In fact, GWP Correx® can design and manufacture custom picking bins to meet any brief / requirement you have.
What colour bins can I choose?
If using Correx® for your divided pick bins, you can choose from the standard colours of white, black, red, yellow, blue green and grey. If using cardboard picking bins, you can choose white, Kraft (brown) or have the bins printed in virtually any colour / design you can imagine.
Why should I use divided bins?
Divided bins are a good choice for maximising the existing space – whether this be within your warehouse racking, or on a work station within an assembly line. They can also organise your stock and parts more effectively, and keep sub elements of components or ranges together in a single outer bin, whilst still segmented.
Would cardboard or Correx® bins be best?
As a general rule of thumb, Correx bins provide greater strength, durability and longevity that cardboard. However, cardboard bins still offer good performance, and are a lower initial cost. The answer really depends on your environment and application. GWP will be happy to offer impartial (and free) advice on the best solution for your business.

Truly impartial advice, coupled with no obligation, no pressure quotes
Whilst standard sized picking bins are often a good solution, there is nearly always a compromise in using stock items.
They may not be quite big enough (meaning you have to use the next size up – which is too large). They may not offer the features you require. They may not even be the right colour for your brand (or to match the existing setup of your warehouse).
GWP Correx® take a different approach. Everything we manufacture is tailored exactly to your requirements. Plus you can get impartial advice on the best solution for your business (if required) and all quotes are free and no obligation.
We believe that this approach provides the most cost effective, long term solution for virtually any business.
