Description
Detailed information on moulded plastic Euro containers
Euro containers (also referred to as Euro crates or Euro boxes) are one of the heaviest-duty tote box options available. Yet they are a great all-round container designed for everyday use, being both light and sturdy plus – most importantly – competitively priced.
The sturdy, moulded polypropylene construction provides exceptional strength, making them ideal for handling heavier parts, components, and products.
In fact, with a smooth or ribbed base, loads of up to 70kg and hinged or folding lids, the Euro Light containers are perfect for a wide range of applications. Their use is widespread in the automotive, aerospace and manufacturing industries.
In essence, Euro Containers are surprisingly light, exceptionally hard-wearing, and designed to fit most standard racking and shelving systems. Being an off-the-shelf product also means that Euro containers are available on very short lead times.
Euro standard sizing
These plastic containers are available in the standard “Euro” footprint – making them compatible with the vast majority of racking, pallets, and other storage.
Their dimensions allow for systematic stacking, too, with two 400 x 300mm Euro containers securely stacking (side-by-side) on top of a single 600 x 400mm tote. Euro containers can also uniformly stack on 1200 x 800mm Euro pallets and 1200 x 1000mm UK Standard ISO pallets. This size compatibility maximises your storage and transit efficiency and improves safety.
Other benefits include straight walls to maximise capacity, easy clean surfaces to enhance longevity further, and integral stacking rims to maximise available space (your staff can even stack them with lids on). Euro containers also feature comfortable hand openings for ease of use.
And besides all of this, Euro Containers are resistant to water, oil, grease, and most chemicals. They can also be made dust tight with the addition of specific lids.
Custom Euro stacking containers
There are several options for enhancing any Euro Containers your business uses.
For example, as standard, you can add hinged or folding lids. You can also select from standard or ribbed bases (the latter adding extra strength), easily add external label holders, and even print to exterior surfaces.
However, where you can really enhance your Euro Containers is through the addition of various inserts.
Options include stock or bespoke Correx® divider sets, layer pads (allowing you to use multiple levels of divisions), and custom inserts. Your dividers can also utilise Bubble-board. This material prevents surface scuffs and marking on polished or painted surfaces of components within the tote.
Besides this, Euro Containers can also have foam divisions, engineered inserts, or simple foam lining added too. It is even possible to specify custom vac-formed trays for specific handling requirements.

FAQs
Common questions regarding Euro stacking totes
The following section covers the most commonly asked questions regarding Euro containers.
Can I customise my business’ Euro Containers?
You can customise your Euro containers in several ways. Besides the hinged and folding lids, you can select from a wide range of inserts. Options include Correx® dividers, layer pads, specialist divisions (Bubble-board), vacuum-formed trays, and even routed, die cut and conductive foam inserts.
Why are there only specific sizes available?
As a stock product, only a limited range of Euro Container sizes are available. However, these sizes are compatible with each other (smaller totes will stack on larger ones) and with most standard pallets, racking and automated handling systems.
What Euro container alternatives are there?
While Euro containers are arguably the most robust and durable tote box option, heavy-duty containers manufactured from Correx® are a suitable alternative. These provide similar performance but – crucially – can be manufactured to almost any size you require.
Can I add inserts to my Euro containers?
As Euro containers are available in standard sizes, it is possible to source a range of inserts. You can choose from stock divider sets, layer pads (including anti-static options), custom divisions, bubble board inserts and even vac-formed trays. These options are in addition to a vast range of foam dunnage too.
Who manufactures Euro Containers?
The Euro containers available from GWP – including the conductive versions – are manufactured by materials handling experts SSI Schaefer. They are held in stock at GWP (exclusively in the case of the conductive versions), allowing your business to benefit from short lead times and competitive pricing.
