Basic appearance with advanced protection
Whilst appearance is a very subjective topic, most people would likely agree that the Zarges K410 alu cases look fairly basic. Whilst this actually has many advantages (the timeless design means they will never look dated for example), it does somewhat mask the advanced protection and features offered by these protective cases.
For example, the K410 cases feature a comfortable carrying handle (with rubber grip) and tension locks to keep the case from bursting open.
A hinged lid with an all-round seal also protects the contents from the ingress of dust and prevents water splashes from entering too.
The corners are also reinforced to enhance the strength and durability of the case, and the hinge is easy and smooth to operate too.
All this means that any Zarges K410 case will provide excellent levels of both protection and functionality across a wide range of applications. Saying that, this can however be enhanced with the addition of custom foam inserts – which can be tailored to offer precise levels of protection for your specific items.
Advantages of aluminium cases
Whilst the K410 aluminium cases boast a wide range of features as detailed above, it can (quite reasonably) be argued that a number of plastic carry cases would offer the same range of benefits.
So, the question really becomes why use aluminium instead of plastic?
And whilst there are obvious applications that would suit plastic carry cases, the inherent properties of aluminium make it a more suitable choice in a number of scenarios.
For example, aluminium is generally more hardwearing than lightweight plastic cases (although not necessarily the heavy-duty waterproof cases). The anodised aluminium used for Zarges K410 cases also makes it corrosion resistant, further adding to its longevity.
However, it is really the strength to weight ratio that is important, with aluminium cases such as the K410 (and K411) being exceptionally light in weight despite their strength. This makes them easier to handle and can also reduce transit costs (i.e. air freight) where cost are directionally proportional to weight and not volume.
Aluminium cases will also typically have larger volumes than plastic equivalents, with the material strength allowing for thinner walls and eliminating the requirement for moulded reinforcements within the case interior.
The smooth surfaces also make aluminium cases much easier to clean, which again enhances their lifespan but also opens up their use to applications including medical / clean room use.
In fact, due to the specific performance offered by aluminium cases, specific Zarges K410 alu cases can even be used for transporting of hazardous goods in approval with UN regulations (please note that this requirement must be specified when ordering these cases).
