More Info on Zarges K470 Cases

Why Use Zarges K470 aluminium cases?

Zarges K470 cases are widely regarded as being the market leading aluminium cases available today.

In fact, with an extensive range of inherent benefits, aluminium cases offer a lightweight yet durable solution for storing or transporting vital items or specialist equipment.

Manufactured in Germany using the same high quality aluminium material that is also used to manufacture the Zarges Eurobox cases, the Zarges K470 aluminium case range offers optimum performance across a huge number of applications.

Available in a wide range of sizes (25 in total), Zarges K470 cases can also be customised to suit any individual requirements. With additional plastic insert trays, plus the option of custom foam inserts manufactured by GWP, Zarges cases can be modified to both organise and protect any products, tools or equipment your business uses.

Besides their use as equipment cases however, Zarges K470 are also commonly used as flight cases. Zarges aluminium cases are ideal for air freight and whilst transporting equipment overseas due to their light weight and durable structure.

Aluminium containers, transit cases, and kit skips suitable for a wide range of applications

Due to being manufactured with aluminium, Zarges cases are ideal for both hot and cold weather applications. In fact, Zarges cases can withstand extremes of temperatures, being equally suited to freezing conditions and use in hot climates.

Besides this, Zarges K470 (and aluminium cases in general) are resistant to water vapour, rust and corrosion. IP rated versions (to IP65 and IP67) are also available, whilst a foamed seal is included on all cases.

The Zarges K470 range also offers high levels of protection when storing and transporting items.

The high-quality aluminium exterior protects the contents of the containers against shock and impact, ensuring that all products are kept undamaged when in transit. All round beading and corner beads are also added for improved dimensional stability, whilst extra thick (1.5mm) aluminium sheet is used for larger cases (above 750 x 500 mm base sizes).

Aluminium case usability and comfort

As well as the excellent durability and protection offered by Zarges K470 cases, they also provide a wide range of features to improve usability.

Whilst a full list can be seen in this Zarges K470 buying guide, it includes comfort handles for easy handling of loads up to 50Kg, stacking corners, and comfort fasteners that can last at least 20,000 uses.

The cases can also be secured with plug locks, a spring anti-opening feature or a padlock (with a maximum shackle thickness of 6 mm).

All of this can also be combined with a number of branding options, including external printing, vinyl lettering and graphics, and even embossing of the cases surfaces. All over paint can be applied to change your cases colour too.

Zarges K470 Case FAQs

Frequently asked questions regarding Zarges K470 aluminium cases

Despite being one of the most popular cases manufactured by Zarges, there are often numerous questions regarding the K470 container range.

The below section looks to provide answers to the most common of these. However, if you cannot see the information that you require, please contact a member of the GWP team.

What are K470 cases?

K470 cases are a premium range of aluminium containers manufactured by Zarges. They are one of the most durable (and popular) pre-fabricated aluminium case currently available.

What size K470 cases are available?

Zarges K470 cases are available in a range of 25 standard sizes (although custom sizes are available on request, subject to minimum order volumes). The smallest of these is 350 x 250 x 150 mm, with the largest being 1650 x 750 x 670 mm.

Are these aluminium cases waterproof?

All of the Zarges K470 cases boast a foamed lid seal, which prevents the ingress of dust and water splashes. However, it is possible to purchase enhanced K470 cases that are IP65 or IP67 rated (ensuring complete resistance to water, even when submerged).

Will Zarges K470 aluminium cases rust?

Aluminium cases – unlike those manufactured from other metals – will not rust. A small layer of oxidisation will form, but this then acts as barrier preventing any further corrosion from taking place. This means Zarges K470 cases are suitable for use in environments where they may come into contact with moisture over a prolonged period.

Can I add foam inserts to my K470 cases?

Any Zarges K470 aluminium case that you source can be enhanced with custom engineered foam inserts (or even simple foam lining). This not only helps to organise tools and equipment but can also provide very specific levels of protection for sensitive items too.

What is a “kit skip”?

Many aluminium cases – including Zarges K470 – are used as kit or travel skips. This is effectively utilising the cases for transporting sports kit and equipment (these cases are favoured by professional football teams for example). Their easy clean surfaces make them ideal for muddy or dirty kit.

Where are Zarges cases manufactured?

Zarges cases are manufactured in Germany, with the company having been originally founded in 1933. The company now also has manufacturing facilities in Hungary, as well as a tech centre in the US.

Are there any alternative aluminium cases I should consider?

Zarges themselves manufacture a wide range of aluminium cases, including the Eurobox, Box, K410 and K411 cases. However, alternatives are also available from Bott and Maxado, as well as custom built aluminium flight cases.
