Sports and football kit storage containers
If you are a kit manager or the person responsible for your team’s matchday uniform, training gear, and other equipment, aluminium kit skips are essential.
Kit skips are lightweight yet durable aluminium containers perfect for transporting sports kit and equipment. Widely used by Premier League football teams, kit skips are easy to clean, easy to stack, and can include optional castors to make them easy to move. Also known as travel skips, they can feature your club’s crest and branding.
At GWP, we have supplied kit skips for professional, semi-pro, and amateur sports teams for over 25 years. We are official distributors of the widely adopted Zarges K470 range and have extensive experience customising them for football kit storage applications.
Kit skip features
Aluminium kit containers have several important features and benefits that make them ideal for sports teams.
Durability
Aluminium skips boast high quality and durability, making them perfect for storing/transporting training gear, boots, and matchday kit.
Appearance
Football kit organisers offer a high-quality appearance and can feature club crests, badges, logos and other graphics.
Handles
The comfortable, ergonomic handles and light weight ensures your kit skips are easy and safe to handle even when fully loaded.
ATA approved
Low weight means theses cases are ATA-approved for international shipping via air (perfect for away days or pre-season tours).
Easy clean
Aluminium kit skips are hygienic and easy to clean, making them perfect for transporting muddy or wet kit back from training or matches.
Security
Football storage boxes can be locked using padlocks (supplied separately) to prevent theft of the contents.
Protection
A foam seal in the lid protects your kit from splashes, dust and inclement weather, keeping your equipment safe and dry.
Stacking corners
The integral stacking corners allow easier storage and transportation, preventing football skips from toppling or falling.
Custom aluminium kit skips
By sourcing your aluminium kit skips from GWP, you can also select from a range of customisation options.
Clip-on castors
Clip-on castors, available in fixed and swivel options, can help move larger, heavier football skips (suitable for loads up to 100kg).
Dolly trolley
A dolley trolley makes moving your kit and equipment much easier. It is suitable for loads up to 150 kg.
Branding
You can add your team’s crests, logos, mottos, and other graphics and text to the exterior surface of your sports storage containers in several ways.
External paint
In addition to adding club branding and crests, you can choose to have your kit skips painted in your team’s colours (RAL paint options).
If you need to transport delicate sports equipment, adding a foam lining can help protect it from damage.

Do kit skips rust if used in wet weather?
Kit skips are resistant to water, rain, and dust and protect the items within from impact and mishandling. Besides this, the containers do not rust. Aluminium travel skips are also unaffected by temperature extremes, making them perfect for a cold midweek game in January or the pre-season trip to La Manga.
Can travel skips be branded in my team's colours?
Kit skips can have team crests and logos applied to the exterior surfaces, ensuring that your club colours and identity are displayed with pride. You can also have kit skips painted in all-over colours, too. As such, your kit skips can reflect the professional appearance of your team—whether it is at a high-profile Premier League encounter or a pre-season training camp.
Can kit skips have wheels or castors added?
Although the aluminium material ensures kit skips are lightweight and maintain an excellent strength-to-weight ratio, they can become heavy and difficult to handle when fully loaded with kit or training gear. As such, it is possible to specify removable wheels/castors or use dolly trollies for improved manoeuvrability.
Can football kit skips be stacked?
The stacking corners on aluminium travel skips allow you to stack them during transit or when not in use. This makes them much more space efficient and allows you to easily transport more kit and equipment as required.
Are kit skips suitable for air travel?
Kit skips’ light weight makes them the perfect solution for international air travel, where airlines typically determine costs by weight. In fact, due to this, the majority of cases are ATA-approved for air travel.
Are kit skips easy to clean?
The smooth surfaces of the aluminium case interior are easy to clean, making them ideal for transporting muddy or dirty kit. The aluminium material is also inert and will not react to cleaning solutions or chemicals.
What kit skip sizes do professional teams use?
A wide range of kit skip sizes are available (25 in total). However, football teams commonly use 750 x 550 x 380mm and 750 x 550 x 580. You can see all size options here.
Can I lock my travel skips?
Besides protecting your kit from the elements, you can also padlock your kit skips to prevent theft (a significant concern for professional sports kit costing many thousands of pounds). Please note that padlocks are sold separately and not included as standard.
