Easy and secure transportation of your kit
With the English Premier League and the Championship being amongst the top 5 supported leagues in Europe (in terms of supporter numbers at games), plus TV audiences and fans on social media around the world being counted in the millions, the popularity of the English game has never been stronger.
With such global visibility, it is absolutely crucial that all aspects of your clubs’ presentation are taken care of – right down to the kit skips (that are often even filmed being taken off the team coach)!
In addition to football however, the UK is also home to a wide number of professional sports leagues that are the envy of the world. Rugby, both Union and League, are watched by large numbers of viewers, as are the lower divisions of the Football League and county cricket teams.
Add in the continued legacy of the Olympics in London (even a decade on) and you have a number of other sports steadily growing in popularity. This includes athletics, hockey, basketball, team cycling and many more.
When you also consider pan European competitions (the Champions League, Europa League, Heineken Cup etc) and International competition, it is clear that the potential for any club to benefit from the use of travel skips is tremendous.
Aluminium containers that also offer exceptional usability
Providing you with the highest level of protection and security for your kit, Aluminium skips are well renowned for their high quality and durable nature. This makes them perfect for storing and transporting training gear, boots and match day kit.
Besides offering a high-quality appearance (your kit skips can be fully branded with club crests and logos etc.) and providing outstanding protection for your kit and equipment, aluminium kit skips can also make your life easier too.
Being exceptionally light, it ensures your kit skips are easy and safe to handle even when loaded with equipment. This is further helped by the comfortable, ergonomic handles.
Should a case become too heavy when loaded however, there are optional castors, wheels and trolleys that can further aid transportation.
In fact, the lightweight nature of these cases means they are ATA approved for international shipping via air (perfect for European away days or pre-season tours).
The interior (and exterior) surfaces are also hygienic and easy to clean. This means that your kit skips can be re-used over many hundreds (even thousands) of trips, even if they have been used for transporting muddy and / or wet kit back from training or matches.
Kit Skip FAQs
Commonly asked questions about sport kit containers
Whilst the use of kit skips is widespread throughout many professional sports, it is not uncommon for there to be questions regarding their use or features.
The below section covers the most common of these, before going on to provide the answers and information related to them.
However, if you cannot see the information that you require then please do not hesitate to get in touch – a member of the GWP team will be happy to provide an assist.
Will these kit skips become rusty if used in wet weather?
Kit skips are resistant to water, rain, dust and will even protect the items within from impact and mishandling. Besides this, the containers will not rust. Aluminium travel skips are also unaffected by extremes of temperature. This makes them perfect for a cold midweek game in January, or the pre-season trip to La Manga!
Can travel skips be branded in my teams’ colours?
Kit skips can have team crests and logos applied to the exterior surfaces, ensuring that your club colours and identity can be displayed with pride at all times. This includes all over colours for the cases too. As such, your kit skips can reflect the professional appearance of your team – whether it is at a high-profile Premier League encounter or a pre-season training camp.
Can these skips have wheels / castors added?
Although the aluminium material used ensures kit skips are lightweight (yet maintain an excellent strength / weight ratio), when fully loaded with kit or training gear they can become heavy and difficult to handle. As such, it is possible to specify removable wheels / castors, or use dolly trollies for improved manoeuvrability.
Can these cases be stacked?
The stacking corners present on aluminium travel skips allows them to be stacked during transit or when not in use. This makes them much more space efficient and allows you to easily transport more kit and equipment as required.
Are kit skips suitable for air travel?
The light weight of kit skips makes them the perfect for solution for international air travel (where costs are often determined by weight). In fact, due to this, the majority of cases are ATA approved for air travel.
Can these kit skips be easily cleaned?
The smooth surfaces of the aluminium case interior make them easy to clean, meaning they are ideal for transporting muddy or dirty kit. The aluminium material is also inert and will not react to cleaning solutions or chemicals.
What size kits kips are available?
There are huge range of kit skip sizes available (25 in total). However, the most commonly used sizes (by football teams at least) are 750 x 550 x 380mm and 750 x 550 x 580. You can see all size options here.
Can travel skips be locked?
Besides protecting your kit from the elements, they can also be padlocked to protect from theft (an important factor with professional sports kit costing many thousands of pounds). Please note padlocks are sold separately and not included as standard.
