Join us at the Cricklade Christmas Lights 2019 Event
After sponsoring the Cricklade Christmas Lights Switch On event for the previous five years – GWP Group are once again delighted to offer our continued support to the local community.
Please continue below for additional details on the event.
Cricklade Community Lights Team
In addition to the Cricklade Scouts, the Cricklade Community Lights team – a group of volunteers – plan, organise and hold the annual event. The annual switch-on, which includes a carol service, creates a festive atmosphere for members of the local community to gather tand share the experience.
The fun filled event will include a carol service, live music or talent act, a choir and a visit from Santa for the little ones. There will also be a wide range of food and drink stalls.
More than one thousand people are likely to brave the cold and congregate on the Cricklade High Street to get into the Christmas spirit.
The success and popularity of this event from its start has been highlighted in the rise of turnout numbers each year.
Last year’s event (2018) was considered a success enjoyed by all – especially the children of which a record number of children visited Santa and his Grotto!
Previous events have also included a child friendly talent show, in which children from the local schools participated to win prizes (the first place prize included a gift voucher for the lucky winner to spend as they chose). Entertainment for the adults included The Cricklade Band, who are set to attend again this year.
More highlights from previous years have seen a wide range of children’s entertainment, carol services, children’s magic shows, the local Community choir and visits from Santa, Anna and Elsa (the cast from Frozen).
