JOSCAR certification
GWP approved to supply specific industry sectors
GWP Group is now part of the Joint Supply Chain Accreditation Register (JOSCAR). This certification provides businesses in the aerospace, defence, security, and space sectors with a clear overview of GWP’s commitment to quality and following industry standards and best practices.
JOSCAR accreditation is essential for some of the largest purchasers in the defence community, and GWP will now feature on a database of firms achieving the certification. This presence indicates to companies within these specific sectors that GWP has systems, processes, and quality control to supply protective packaging products to these markets.
JOSCAR is effectively a single repository with pre-qualification and compliance information. Essentially, using JOSCAR determines if a supplier is fit to supply into these extremely demanding industries

What is JOSCAR?
JOSCAR is an accreditation system for suppliers operating in the defence, aerospace and security sectors.
The system is a cross-sector collaboration aimed at improving the efficiency of both the supplier and buyer communities. It achieves this by ensuring business benefit from the highest quality products (that comply with industry best practices).
As a result, it allows large contractors such as BAE Systems, Thales and QinetiQ (amongst others) to trade with pre-qualified organisations with confidence in their abilities and processes.
Besides this, JOSCAR provides access to a centralised supplier database, with participants having an online profile.
How it works
The scheme is managed by Hellios, a supplier information and risk management company with over 30 years of experience within these sectors.
Hellios collects, validates and monitors the supplier information provided by participants in the scheme, creating a single pool of accurate and up-to-date supplier information.

In essence, JOSCAR certification is the equivalent of a trusted third party having conducted the due diligence necessary to ensure that GWP (and other qualifying suppliers) have the processes, quality standards, and certifications to align with industry best practices. Ultimately, this saves your business the time and money needed to carry out your own investigations into GWP’s credentials.
GWP's certification
GWP are proud to announce that we have satisfied all requirements and, as such, are now part of the JOSCAR-supplied accreditation register.
GWP completed assessments across a wide range of appropriate business parameters. Assessments included health and safety, environmental and sustainability, IT security, anti-bribery, insurance, corruption, and third-party certification. It also covers counterfeit materials, product safety and quality.

Becoming a member assures both existing and new customers that the products and services GWP provide comply with the specific industry standards and requirements.
As such, GWP is looking forward to strengthening existing relationships with our defence and aerospace customers, alongside the potential for working with new clients moving forward.
The defence and aerospace sectors
The defence sector within the UK supports a huge number of jobs and businesses. A government report highlights as many as 10,000 businesses work directly with the MOD, including £1.1 billion of spending with SMEs. The UK also exports $4.6 billion of defence products annually.
The UK aerospace industry is the second largest globally (behind only the United States) and is inextricably intertwined with the defence sector. However, the aerospace industry’s turnover is approximately $32 billion in its own right, with 98% of domestic aerospace production being exported.
GWP Group has extensive experience supplying engineered, high-performance packaging to both sectors. GWP’s focus on quality, performance, innovation and attention to detail has seen us become trusted suppliers to many businesses operating in these markets.
