Bespoke wooden pallet collars
If you are shipping large or heavy equipment, using a custom pallet collar alongside your pallet can significantly improve protection during transit.
Manufactured in bespoke sizes, custom pallet collars brace your product so it cannot move around on the pallet when being handled or transported. Doing this significantly minimises the opportunity for transit damage. Custom pallet collars commonly include a foam lining on the inside surfaces, preventing scuffs or marking. The foam also provides a degree of cushioning during transit.
The pallet collars we supply at GWP are suitable for export (using ISPM 15 heat-treated timber) and also use wood from FSC sources. We can also provide full pallet boxes, ranging from heavy-duty corrugated sleeves that slide over your pallet collar to custom-engineered composite packs.

FAQs
What are pallet collars?
Pallet collars are wooden sleeves placed on top of wooden pallets. Whilst businesses often use standard pallet collars as an alternative to a pallet box or wooden crate, you can use custom versions to brace a product on a pallet to prevent movement and damage during handling.
What are pallet collars used for?
Pallet collars are a form of transit packaging. Alongside traditional wooden pallets, collars are popular for shipping bulky, heavy, or industrial items.
What is the difference between a standard and custom pallet collar?
Standard pallet collars typically replace a pallet box or shipping crate, as users can stack them to create a semi-bespoke (height) container. Custom pallet collars, however, cannot be stacked but are specifically sized to prevent products or equipment from shifting when on a pallet.
Is it possible to stack pallet collars?
Whilst you can stack standard wooden pallet collars to create a wooden shipping crate, custom pallet collars generally cannot be stacked. However, they can be manufactured in bespoke heights to suit your specific application.
How do custom pallet collars prevent damage?
Custom pallet collars can significantly help to reduce damage caused by movement during transit. They effectively hold the product or equipment in position on the pallet. Custom pallet collars also commonly include foam linings, which protect the surfaces in contact from scuffing and marking while also providing a level of cushioning.
