Description
Detailed information on Cardboard Picking Bins
Cardboard picking bins are the lowest cost option when looking for a storage or order fulfilment solution for your business. But despite this, these picking bins offer a much wider range of benefits than just their cost.
Commonly referred to as K Bins, they are available in a range of industry standard sizes, designed to fit both imperial and metric racking / shelving systems. This means that they make efficient use of space with your existing fulfilment, storage or production environment.
However, GWP can design and manufacture cardboard warehouse pick bins to virtually any dimensions. This allows you to tailor these shelf bins to your exact requirements – whether to better fit your available space or the contents themselves. Using custom sized cardboard bins can therefore offer the most efficient use of the space you have available.
The bins can also be supplied flat, which means they are also space efficient when not in use (unlike moulded plastic parts bins for example). They are however easily assembled in a few seconds – without any need for glue, staples or other fixings – due to the clever folding design.
Customised corrugated storage bins
Besides custom sizes, by sourcing your cardboard pick bins from GWP means you can customise them in a number of other ways too.
This includes having divided pick bins (with the divisions being either removable of integrated) and external printing. Print can be used to add not only branding, but also instructions, label areas and even part numbers (if your inventory does not change frequently).
Ultimately, these picking bins help to improve the organisation of your stock, and enable quicker, more efficient retrieval of their contents (further aided by the semi open front design). This makes them suitable for a wide range of applications.
And finally, being manufactured from a corrugated cardboard material, these picking bins are fully recyclable and biodegradable, making them an environmentally friendly option.

FAQs
Common questions regarding Cardboard Picking Bins
Have some questions regarding cardboard picking bins? Chances are, they have been answered below.
If not however, and you still require further info, please contact us on 01793 754 457 or email correx@gwp.co.uk
What material are these bins manufactured from?
Whilst the obvious answer here is “cardboard”, these bins can actually be manufactured in a number of different grades depending on your intended usage. Lightweight products will not need an overly strong grade of material, whilst weightier items or components may require a heavier grade (although Correx® shelf bins may also be suitable here). You can also choose between Kraft (brown) and white material.
Can my cardboard picking bins be printed?
All cardboard picking bins you source from GWP can be printed. This could include handling instructions, label areas, product codes (if your inventory will not change regularly) and of course your company branding too. Labelling can also be used as lower cost – but still effective – option.
Will these picking bins be resistant to moisture?
Although cardboard picking bins can be treated with Liquiguard coating to make them water resistant, generally if a degree of water proofing is required then Correx® shelf bins would be a better option. Corrugated cardboard will become soggy and structurally unsound if exposed to too much moisture.
Can cardboard picking bins be stacked?
Standard cardboard picking bins are generally chosen for low cost, which means the basic designs cannot be stacked. However, if this is a requirement, the design team at GWP can create cardboard bins which can be stacked as required. It may also be worth considering Correx® stacking bins for this requirement however.
Will these bins fit on my racking / shelving?
The standard sizes of cardboard picking bins have been designed to work with both imperial and metric shelving standards (meaning you should find a suitable option). However, GWP Correx® can create your cardboard bins to practically any size – meaning that they can be tailored to provide the most efficient setup for your business.
Can I have custom size cardboard bins?
Nearly all of the products that GWP manufacture are bespoke, being tailored to your exact requirements. Whilst this may be fractionally more expensive in the short term when compared with buying off the shelf products, the medium to longer term cost savings will usually far outweigh the initial outlay (in terms of improved space efficiency, productivity, longevity etc.).
What are these cardboard picking bin used for?
Cardboard picking bins can be used or a wide range of applications. This includes ecommerce order fulfilment, storing parts in workshops, moving (and storing) parts and components on assembly and production lines and anywhere there is a storage requirement for parts or products.
