About wooden pallet collars

Wooden pallet collars are popular for bulk shipping smaller items or larger objects such as specialist equipment or industrial products.

Unlike cardboard pallet boxes, pallet collars are manufactured using softwood. This material makes them more durable, stronger, and reusable over multiple trips.

Similarly to most pallet boxes, the hinged design of pallet collars allows them to collapse flat when not used. This feature saves considerable space in your warehouse or production environment.

Available in standard sizes to fit common pallets or in completely bespoke dimensions, you simply unfold and place pallet collars on top of the pallet you are using. Collars can also be stacked to create a custom size box.

The stacking and interlocking design also means it is easier for staff to load goods, whilst chamfered edges help prevent splinters and related injuries.

Pallet collars can also be supplied as ISPM 15 compliant, making them suitable for export. And all wood comes from sustainable sources.

What are pallet collars?

Pallet collars are effectively timber boxes that are placed on top of a wooden pallet to contain goods in transit. As they typically do not have a lid or base (although you can add these separately), they can, unlike standard timber cases, be collapsed when not in use to save space.

What are pallet collars used for?

Pallet collars are a popular option for transporting large products or equipment or bulk shipping multiple smaller items.

Are pallet collars treated?

Pallet collars can be heat treated to ISPM standards. This process means they comply with all current regulations and are suitable for exporting goods (if used alongside suitably treated pallets).

What type of wood are pallet collars made from?

The most common material used to manufacture pallet collars is plywood. However, some businesses use OSB or even plastic pallet collars.

Are pallet collars recyclable?

The wood used to manufacture pallet collars can be recycled. This includes being used to make new pallets or other products such as mulch or animal bedding. Specialist recycling centres are required for correct recycling.

Pallet collar pricing

Although many pallet collars are produced in standard sizes to fit common pallet footprints, GWP will manufacture yours to your exact specifications. Whilst this could mean custom sizes and heights, bespoke options include stencilling, lids and even compatible inserts.

The features and volume of collars/pallets you require directly impact the price you pay (and is why GWP do not list prices on this site).
