Pallet size cardboard sheets
At GWP, we manufacture standard or custom-size cardboard layer pads for pallets to improve load stability and allow product layering.
Pallet-size cardboard sheets are also suitable for base and protective layers. Similarly, our smaller layer pads improve part density and efficiency within outer boxes when used alongside cardboard dividers.
All layer pads supplied by GWP to your business are fully recyclable and biodegradable, minimising your packaging’s’ environmental impact. You can also opt to add printing or specialist coatings such as water resistance, anti scuff surfaces or even anti-static properties.
Benefits of our cardboard layer pads
By sourcing your cardboard layer pads from GWP Packaging, you can expect several benefits:

What our customers say...

The pack has worked remarkably well. There was some concern that using corrugated alone would protect such a high-value and fragile item, but to date, we have had zero returns due to transit damage. GWP has done a great job.
Julie Aparicio | Graphics and Service Designer | Haberdashery

We have been doing business with GWP for over 10 years and the entire time that I have been working at Hardware Services. We source a range of bespoke cardboard packaging for our network equipment refurbishment program. The proximity to our location is a massive positive however, even bigger is the dedicated customer service we receive from GWP.
Ben Carter | Operations Manager | Hardware Services

Using GWP’s expertise for this project was a no-brainer as they consistently supply our organisation with high-quality packaging solutions that meet our exact standards. Their service is outstanding—reliable, responsive, and consistently exceeding expectations. We couldn’t ask for a better packaging partner.

FAQs
What are cardboard layer pads?
Cardboard layer pads are effectively large sheets of corrugated cardboard. Depending on the application, they can use either single-wall or double-wall material. They are commonly used to separate layers of products when stacked on pallets or placed within boxes.
How do layer pads improve safety?
Layer pads add stability to products when loaded on a pallet. By spreading weight more evenly and increasing friction, they can help prevent loads from shifting. This, in turn, prevents damage to products and potential injuries caused by products falling from the pallet.
Do I need layer pads for my shipments?
Besides improved load stability, layer pads add a degree of protection against impact, protect contents from strapping, and can even provide a moisture barrier. These benefits make them useful for shipments where damage may be more likely (and costly if it occurs).
Can layer pads be used inside boxes?
Many businesses use layer pads within corrugated packaging. They can help to separate layers of products stacked within the outer box and are particularly effective when used alongside cardboard box dividers. Layer pads can also protect the top layer of products when recipients open the packaging.
Are layer pads available in different materials?
Cardboard layer pads are popular for single-trip shipments. However, plastics such as Correx and Bubble Board are more suitable for returnable packaging applications (they are more durable and long-lasting).
