FAQs
How can boxes be optimised for pallets?
Pallet-optimised boxes have dimensions that waste no – or very little – space on your pallets. The boxes do not overhang either. To achieve this, a GWP design engineer analyses your products, your existing boxes, the protection requirements during transit, and several other factors to create a single- or double-wall box that optimises space usage.
Can cardboard boxes stack safely to the required height?
Pallet boxes can provide specific levels of stacking strength. Using advanced software and theoretical compression testing (which also calculates edge crush and burst strength parameters), it ensures your staff can stack your boxes to the required height with no risk of damage.
Can pallet boxes be printed?
Any pallet boxes or other types of transit packaging sourced from GWP can have printing applied to them. Whilst it is nearly always a good idea to include your branding for free advertising, you can also include other helpful information, such as part or model numbers, handling requirements, disposal instructions, and so on.
Can boxes be the same size as a pallet?
Besides individual, smaller boxes for placement on a pallet, you can also source full-sized pallet boxes. These are an excellent choice for bulk shipping of items and can provide many of the same benefits as the pallet-optimised boxes themselves.
What size pallets should I use?
There may be good reasons that you use a specific size of pallet. For example, your customers may specify that they must be a specific type, or they work well with your existing warehouse, etc. However, there may be scenarios where you can be flexible on the types of pallets you can use. In that case, experienced packaging designers can recommend using different-sized pallets if the analysis shows it could result in cost savings.
