After studying business for two years at Witney and Abingdon College, Philip joined the corrugated industry in 2000.
Initially starting in a temporary role through a family connection, he began his career as an operative at SCA Packaging. This role involved him working on varying equipment, including three years on a Kirby small printer, followed by four years on a Piemonte printer slotter.
Having gained experience and knowledge on the factory floor, Phil was appointed supervisor in 2007 as part of a reshuffle that absorbed SCA Portsmouth. SCA Packaging sold its conventional corrugated business to Spanish company SAICA in 2008, with Phil becoming Production Manager at the latter in 2013.
Phil subsequently joined GWP in late 2018 as Production Manager and quickly set about driving improvements across the business. Notably, he implemented a team leader structure, dividing the factory into four areas to maximise efficiency, quality and control. In May 2023, Phil became Operations Manager – his current role – as part of a management restructure.
Outside of work, Phil loves spending time with his two sons and watching football, cricket, Formula One and general socialising.
