With a career spanning over four decades, Gary has been a stalwart in manufacturing and production environments since 1976. He joined Eastman Packaging (formerly known as GWP Protective) in 1992, where he started as a fully indentured Cabinet Maker & City & Guilds accredited Wood Machinist, holding the position of Factory Operator.
By 1993, he had become Production Manager and, by 2002, Gary was formally appointed as Company Director. By this point, he was already responsible for finance, accounts, payroll, human resources, quality, and health & safety, due to the extensive and intricate knowledge of both the business and the products they designed and manufactured.
When GWP Group acquired Eastman Packaging in 2006, Gary became Commercial Director. Eastman was rebranded as GWP Protective in 2009.
As part of his role, Gary has been instrumental in implementing and overseeing health and safety measures across both of GWP’s sites (in Salisbury and Cricklade), as well as several Macfarlane Group manufacturing sites, including those in Westbury and Totton (B&D foam).
Outside of work, Gary’s interests are as diverse as his professional ones. He has a deep passion for natural history, and he is also an avid lover of music, cars, boats, and bikes.
