Custom cardboard fittings
Die cut inserts and cardboard fittings are a cost-effective way to protect your products during shipping, reduce packing times, and enhance presentation. They are also considerably easier to recycle than polystyrene or foam inserts.
Designed and manufactured to be a perfect fit for your specific items, you can also opt for removable or integral fittings in a range of materials, colours, and finishes.
At GWP, we have the experience, design capability, and manufacturing expertise to produce packaging and inserts tailored precisely to your requirements. Packaging that is easy to pack, provides optimum protection in transit, exceeds your customers’ expectations, and is cost-effective, too.
Benefits of our die cut cardboard inserts
The benefits of working with us to create custom cardboard fittings for your products include:

What our customers say...

The pack has worked remarkably well. There was some concern that using corrugated alone would protect such a high-value and fragile item, but to date, we have had zero returns due to transit damage. GWP has done a great job.
Julie Aparicio | Graphics and Service Designer | Haberdashery

We have been doing business with GWP for over 10 years and the entire time that I have been working at Hardware Services. We source a range of bespoke cardboard packaging for our network equipment refurbishment program. The proximity to our location is a massive positive however, even bigger is the dedicated customer service we receive from GWP.
Ben Carter | Operations Manager | Hardware Services

Using GWP’s expertise for this project was a no-brainer as they consistently supply our organisation with high-quality packaging solutions that meet our exact standards. Their service is outstanding—reliable, responsive, and consistently exceeding expectations. We couldn’t ask for a better packaging partner.

FAQs
What are die cut inserts?
Die cut inserts are additional fittings used within an outer box to protect and present products. These fittings are typically tailored to a specific product, with custom apertures or recesses for products to sit within.
Do die cut inserts protect items during transit?
Die cut inserts provide a high degree of protection for products during handling and shipping. They minimise the movement of any items within, preventing them from colliding with other contents or the internal walls of the outer packaging.
How do die cut fittings match the shape of my products?
For custom die cut inserts, a packaging designer typically requires a sample of your product. They can then use this and specialist digitising equipment to record the shape and contours of your product before using CAD software to create an accurate design.
Are die cut inserts part of the outer box or removable?
Die cut inserts can be supplied in one of two ways. Firstly, they can be a separate piece of material assembled and placed into the outer pack. Alternatively, the fittings can be integral to the pack, which itself can be supplied ready assembled for ease of use or flat-packed for assembly on site (and space-saving in storage/transit).
Are there different material options for custom fittings?
Custom cardboard fittings are available in various material grades and finishes, including single and double wall, plus white and brown/kraft colours. Inserts can also be printed with logos and all-over colours if required. Other insert options available include foams such as Stratocell and Plastazote.
