BDCM and BDC cartons
Delivery in BDCM boxes (Bulk Distribution Carton Metric) is a common requirement if your business ships clothing, fashion or similar products to large retailers.
BDCM and BDC cartons adhere to a range of industry-standard sizes designed to maximise the efficiency and space within delivery vehicles, warehouses and packaging stations. They also typically include a printed table for manually writing key catalogue number, season, sizes, colours, etc. A dotted line provides a guide for cutting an opening to enable easy picking of products by fulfilment staff.
At GWP, we are a UK manufacturer of all BDCM and BDC box sizes, with our extensive experience ensuring that your packaging adheres to industry standards for retail, clothing and catalogue trades. We can also customise your BDCM cardboard boxes with print, different materials and even inserts.

FAQs

What are BDCM boxes?
BDCM is an abbreviation of “Bulk Distribution Carton Metric”. Like Bulk Distribution Carton (BDC) boxes, BDCM boxes are effectively a range of industry-standard-sized boxes. Using BDC and BDCM boxes for shipping clothing and other garments is frequently stipulated by larger retailers and catalogue businesses.
What are BDCM boxes manufactured from?
As they are commonly used for shipping clothes and material items, the weight of the contents of the boxes tends not to be excessive. As a result, a lightweight yet durable single-wall cardboard material keeps the price of the boxes as low as possible. However, if you need a stronger or more durable pack, BDCM boxes can be manufactured using heavier-grade materials.
Can BDCM boxes have custom printing?
Whilst the information panel that allows you to add shipment details manually is standard across most BDCM boxes (or may even be specified by particular retailers), you can add your own logos and branding if required.
What size BDCM boxes are there?
There are four standard BDCM box sizes available. These are BDCM1 (595 x 295 x 388 mm), BDCM2 (400 x 300 x 400 mm), BDCM3 (597 x 292 x 190 mm) and BDCM4 (394 x 292 x 191 mm). BDC cartons are available in BDC1 (610 x 280 x 357 mm), BDC2 (406 x 279 x 356 mm) and BDC3 (405 x 280 x 185 mm) sizes.
Are BDCM boxes accepted by stockists/customers?
Some large retailers may only accept deliveries in specific cartons, such as BDC and BDCM. Whilst you must always check with the particular businesses involved, GWP can manufacture your BDC cartons to meet any specific requirements.
