What are pallet boxes?
Pallet boxes are typically large cardboard boxes affixed to wooden pallets. Pallet boxes are commonly used for shipping bulky items or for export. Pallet boxes are available in standard or Europa pallet sizes or in custom dimensions to suit specific products.
Do pallet boxes come with wooden pallets?
The majority of commercially supplied pallet boxes include wooden pallets as standard. However, it is possible to source the cardboard tray cap and sleeve separately if required.
What size are standard pallet boxes?
Pallet boxes are available in four common sizes. These fit UK standard pallets (1200 x 1000 mm) or Europa pallets (1200 x 800mm). Half-standard and half-Europa pallet boxes are also available. It is also possible to manufacture custom pallet boxes in almost any size.
Are pallet boxes suitable for very heavy items?
Pallet boxes can be highly durable and robust, making them ideal for heavy products and equipment. However, these require a heavier-duty material grade, such as double-wall cardboard.
Are pallets on pallet boxes heat-treated?
When exporting products, pallet boxes must use heat-treated pallets (i.e., the timber part of the pack). This requirement is so the pallet boxes comply with ISPM 15. ISPM 15 (International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No.15) is a set of regulations to help prevent the spread of pests and diseases through wood used in packaging materials as part of international trade.
