If you require packaging that meets Def Stan 81-15, is UN 4G approved, or is suitable for small and heavy parts, fibreboard boxes are your best option.
Available in custom sizes, with attached (i.e. hinged) or separate lids, and in a range of material thicknesses, we can manufacture a solid fibreboard box to the exact specifications that you require. Our fibreboard packaging also offers an excellent strength-to-weight ratio and features robust stapled joints for added durability.
A range of material thicknesses is available, up to a maximum of 2150 microns, all of which use a high-quality Kraft and Chip liner board. The quality and range of material grades enable us to tailor the strength and weight of the box to your specific product, application, or requirements.

FAQs
What are fibreboard boxes?
Fibreboard boxes are a type of packaging manufactured using solid fibreboard material. This material is strong and durable yet lightweight and fully recyclable. Fibreboard boxes are ideal for small and heavy objects such as screws, bolts and similar metal fixings.
What is a 4G fibreboard box?
A 4G fibreboard box is suitable for shipping dangerous goods. The 4G references the appropriate UN standards and Dangerous Goods Regulations the packaging must meet.
What is the difference between fibreboard and cardboard?
The primary difference between fibreboard and cardboard lies in their material composition. Fibreboard is effectively a single, solid layer of material. Cardboard, however, comprises multiple layers of paper, typically two flat outer liners and a corrugated layer in the centre.
Are fibreboard boxes strong?
Fibreboard boxes offer an excellent strength-to-weight ratio. As there is no corrugated layer (as per cardboard boxes), they also provide superior compression strength. As such, fibreboard boxes are popular for heavy items.
What are fibreboard boxes suitable for?
It is possible to manufacture fibreboard boxes in accordance with Defence Standard 81-15. As a result, these boxes are ideal if you supply directly to the MOD. However, they are also suitable for small and heavy components and parts, particularly for storing and transporting screws, nails, nuts, bolts, and similar metal fasteners.
