About Sealed Air TempGuard™
When shipping food, freshness is critical. Items arriving in poor condition will quickly lose your business subscribers and customers.
Yet, whilst there are numerous temperature controlled packaging options for foods, arguably none provide as many benefits for your business as Sealed Air TempGuard™.
These insulative pads, manufactured from recycled paper fibres, are placed into a standard cardboard outer box. They maintain a consistent temperature within the pack for up to 48 hours (with performance certified by the ISTA).
The flexible nature of the TempGuard™ insulated box liners also means that they provide cushioning for the items within. This property protects your goods from any shock or impact experienced during normal handling and transit.
This flexibility, coupled with the fact that the TempGuard™ pads are as little as 14mm thick, also means they are very space-efficient. Their slim dimensions can help reduce the overall size of the outer carton or subscription box required, helping to minimise shipping costs.
Besides this, they also wick/absorb moisture, meaning that your liners draw condensation away from the products themselves.
These benefits make Sealed Air TempGuard™ perfect as insulated packaging for food and suitable for any temperature-sensitive product (including pharmaceuticals, vaccines, etc.).
Truly eco-friendly insulated packaging
Whilst businesses traditionally used polystyrene and Styrofoam for temperature-controlled packaging, neither are easily recyclable nor biodegradable when they inevitably end up in landfills.
TempGuard™, by comparison, is made from a kraft paper outer and recycled paper fibres. The key benefit is that the TempGuard™ insulated box liners are fully recyclable, with end users simply putting the whole pad directly into their kerbside recycling box.
Coupled with the fact that TempGuard™ uses 100% pre-consumer recycled material, your business can offer your customers an environmental advantage.

What is TempGuard™?
TempGuard™ is a form of thermal insulated packaging – effectively pads that businesses can add to standard cardboard shipping and eCommerce boxes. When wrapped around products to be shipped, they keep them cool and protected from general handling stresses experienced with courier and delivery networks.
How does TempGuard compare to Woolcool?
Woolcool is similar to TempGuard™ but uses wool material to insulate the products. Whilst this is very effective and also biodegradable, end users cannot easily recycle the wool material. This contrasts with the recycled paper fibres of TempGuard™, which are recyclable in kerbside collections.
Will TempGuard keep my products chilled in transit?
The ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) independently tested TempGuard™ to certify its insulative performance. It can keep food and other products at a consistent temperature for up to 48 hours.
Can TempGuard™ pads be put in regular kerbside recycling?
The critical environmental (and usability) advantage that TempGuard™ offers over polystyrene and wool-based products is that end users can place it straight into standard kerbside recycling bins. This benefit encourages recycling and makes life significantly easier for your customers.
