About RecycoolMe

RecycoolMe insulated cardboard boxes can help reduce your damages and recalls significantly whilst reducing shipping, packaging and storage costs. RecycoolMe also provides considerable environmental advantages for you and your business.

The RecycoolMe liners use paper fibre wrapped in kraft paper. Although lightweight, it has excellent insulative properties, removing the need for bulky gel packs and reducing shipping costs. As such, RecycoolMe offers the flexibility and slim profile of a standard cardboard box, which can be easily stored and assembled when required.

The recyclable insulated liner can keep products cool and fresh below -2ºc or between 2 – 8ºc for up to 48 hours and protect against any potential shocks or impacts during normal handling and transit. These properties make it suitable for any temperature-sensitive product, including food and pharmaceuticals.

Environmentally friendly insulated cardboard boxes

The adoption of plastic-based products and their impact on the environment has seen an uptake in finding environmentally friendly alternatives.

RecycoolMe has another significant advantage in that each component of RecycoolMe is environmentally friendly and suitable for kerbside recycling boxes. However, it still offers the same high performance as non eco-friendly alternatives.

As such, RecycoolMe helps eliminate traditional temperature controlled packaging materials like polystyrene and Styrofoam, which are not recyclable or biodegradable, from landfills.

One of the other alternatives is wool-based products, which are fully biodegradable but not recyclable. This type of packaging element requires end users to compost it, which is not always convenient or possible.

Key benefits of RecycoolMe insulated cardboard boxes

What is RecycoolMe?

RecycoolMe is a type of insulated cardboard box. The liners are made using paper fibres inside an outer layer of paper, which provides excellent insulative properties whilst also being fully recyclable.

What is the difference between RecycoolMe and Sealed Air TempGuard™?

In essence, there are very few differences between RecycoolMe and Sealed Air Tempguard. However, Sealed Air TempGuard™ has not one but two certification standards, ISTA 20 and ISTA 7E, with a wide range of sizes available. The padding thickness of Sealed Air TempGuard™ also offers greater flexibility for different types of products and provides a higher level of protection against damage.

What are examples of temperature-controlled goods?

Examples of temperature controlled goods which would benefit from paper-based insulated packaging include fresh food and beverages (particularly for meal subscription services). However, certain pharmaceuticals, bio or medical samples and even some chemicals must be shipped using temperature controlled packaging.

How long does cardboard temperature controlled packaging stay cool compared to polystyrene or Styrofoam?

Insulated cardboard packaging can keep items at a specific temperature from 24-72hrs depending on the type of inner insulative material selected and the aftercare of your product, which includes shipping with specialist couriers. In comparison, Styrofoam and polystyrene can keep products below 5 degrees for up to 72hrs.
