Description
More info on SSI Schaefer LF Series Bins
Damage caused by static to specialist products or parts – such as PCBs, microchips, and other electronic componentry – can cause serious problems (and incur significant costs) for any business. But, if you are experiencing damage to your static sensitive items, the SSI Schaefer LF bins can help.
The conductive polypropylene material offers conductive performance of <10³ Ohm x cm volume resistance, plus a 10⁴ Ohm surface resistance. This means that any atmospheric static is safely channelled around the bins exterior, protecting the items within.
These picking bins also offer exceptional physical protection too. The tough moulded plastic is resistant to moisture, oil, and grease. It is also dimensionally stable from -20° to +100° Celsius. This means they are ideal for different climates and even cold storage.
The range of sizes suit a wide range of products, having also been designed specifically to integrate seamlessly with your existing racking and warehouse storage systems too. And, even with their modular sizing and semi-open front storage design, the LF Series are sturdy and robust.
They also feature integrated fixings on the reverse to allow them to be mounted on louvre wall panels, meaning they can be used to maximise vertical space at your workstation, picking wall or manufacturing line.
Protection for parts during storage / picking
Minimising or even eliminating physical and static damage to your stock reduces costs. This includes fewer returns and written off stock. The improved productivity of your workforce they can help to realise also helps to drive down your costs. But the SSI LF conductive bins can save you money in other ways too.
The strength and durability of these conductive shelf bins means that, whilst the upfront costs are higher than using Correx® products or conductive cardboard alternatives, they are a longer term solution. This longevity means the lifetime costs tend to be considerably lower.
Besides this, they are also easy to clean. This means they outlast corrugated bins which are usually discarded if they become dirty, which can occur either during normal handling or long-term storage.
Finally, the full range of LF series bins are in stock at GWP Conductive. This means you can take delivery of your order usually within 24 hours, and that you can be responsive to sudden peaks in demand or production. This will also prevent disrupting your picking or warehouse processes.

FAQs
Common queries about SSI LF Series
Please see below for the most commonly asked questions on the topic of the SSI Schaefer LF Series conductive range of picking / storage bins.
Why would I need anti-static picking bins?
Static sensitive parts and components (e.g. chips, circuit boards etc.) can be easily damaged by static. This then means either faulty finished products or those that have a much-reduced lifespan (both of which could damage your business reputation and / or sales). LF bins help protect such parts during storage and picking processes.
What sizes are the LF Series bins available in?
The SSI Schaefer LF Series bins are available in 7 sizes, with the smallest being 65 x 91 x 44 mm and the largest 445 x 279 x 185 mm (both sizes relate to internals). Whilst this may appear to be a relatively small range, the modular nature of the bins and their suitability for standard shelving / racking means they provide enough options for the vast majority of businesses.
What does LF stand for?
LF stands for “Lager Fix” – a term given to bins across the SSI Schaefer range that are compatible with each other but also standard racking and louver panel walls (i.e. they can be mounted).
What options are there if I don’t need ESD safe picking bins?
GWP Correx® are able to manufacture and supply the widest range of picking bins available from a single UK business. This includes Correx® picking bins and corrugated cardboard options, as well as non-conductive SSI Schaefer moulded ranges. Custom sizes, colours, and styles, including stacking pick bins or divided containers, are available too.
I need picking bins urgently – can you help?
GWP Conductive keep a UK exclusive stock holding of the full range of SSI Schaefer conductive handling products (including the EF Series totes / inserts as well as the LF Series bins). This means you can get these conductive picking bins (or the Corstat® Bin Boxes) with a lead time of approximately 48 hours.
