Printed SRPs

Transit packaging for retail sale and storage

Shelf ready packaging can be essential for your business success. With three out of every four new SKUs fail to generate even £100,000 sales in their first year of trading (often being de-listed by retailers), the use of printed SRPs can provide a significant advantage.

Ideal for practically any retail environment, shelf ready boxes are easy to use. Saving money, time and labour, your stockists will simply take delivery, remove the tear off section and put on the shelf. Read More

Description

Detailed information on Shelf Ready Packaging

Shelf ready packaging offers a cost effective solution for both product presentation and transit protection.

Effectively comprising an outer transit packaging box that contains pre-packaged individual items inside, once your products arrive in store a simple tear section is removed, and the outer box placed directly onto the shelf.

This has a number of benefits.

Firstly, the shelf ready packaging protects the items during transit to stores and retail outlets.

Secondly, this format is both time and labour saving for your stockists. This can also help with getting products adopted into larger retailers, potentially driving vastly increased sales.

And thirdly, shelf ready boxes can significantly increase prominence in crowded retail environments. This can be achieved through striking print to grab consumer attention, but also the design of the SRP enabling good display / merchandising of your products with little to no effort on the part of your re-sellers / stockists.

Manufactured from high quality, durable corrugated cardboard, shelf ready retail packaging can also be easily disposed of (i.e. recycled) once all the products have been sold.

Why shelf ready packaging (SRP) is increasingly important

More so now than ever – particularly with the growth of ecommerce seeing consumers shift spending online – It takes time and effort to get your products into large retailers.

It can take months of sales pitches, negotiations, and meetings. But the results are worth it.

One aspect that can play an important role is the ease of which your products can be assimilated into the retailer’s current product range. Whilst pricing, features and “filling a gap” all play a role here, it is often overlooked that your product packaging (and even POS) does too.

This is why shelf ready packaging is critical –it allows retailers to stock your products with minimal difficulties, and also ensures consistent appearance throughout large chains of stores.

Key Benefits of SRP at a glance

  • Helps products become stocked / adopted by larger retailers
  • Saves time / labour for staff in store – simply remove tear section and place on shelf
  • Can help to ensure products are well presented with little / no input from staff
  • Also protects products during shipping to stores
  • Various print options to help grab attention
  • Fully recyclable and biodegradable
  • Tailored to your specific products, market segment and target consumers

FAQs

Commonly questions on cardboard SRP

Is your retail strategy in need of a boost? Struggling to get into specific retailers? Think shelf ready packaging could help?

The below covers common questions when considering the use of shelf ready packaging. However, should you have any queries not answered here, please get in touch on 01793 754 444 or email [email protected]

What is an SRP?

In essence, shelf ready packaging (SRP being the acronym of this) is outer corrugated packaging that also contains products in their own specific packaging too. It is termed as shelf ready as, once delivered to store, a tear off section is removed and the outer box is placed directly onto the shelf space. Consumers can then retrieve individual products from this.

What is the difference between, SRP, retail ready packs and PDQs?

SRP and retail ready packs (RRP) are effectively 2 different terms for the same product. A third name, PDQs (standing for Pretty Darn Quick) was a term used for shelf ready packaging at Walmart stores to describe the time saving nature of this form of packaging.

Can my SRPs be printed?

SRPs can (and really should) be printed. By including company logos, colours associated with your brand and even special offers and promotions, printed shelf ready packaging can help your products catch the attention of consumer and drive sales.

Will these be accepted by major retailers?

GWP can ensure that your shelf ready packaging conforms to the specific industry / retailer requirements as applicable. Your shelf ready packs are also tailored to the products within, ensuring protection during shipping to stockists / outlets.

Can SRP help to improve sales?

Shelf ready packaging can help improve sales in a number of ways. Firstly, they can help get your products into large retailers. Secondly, they can be designed to ensure that products are well displayed (merchandised) with little input from shop staff. And thirdly, using bright, vibrant colours and print can help to catch attention in crowded retail environments.
