Description
More information on Correx® plastic storage totes
Perhaps the key benefit of using Correx® totes is your level of control over their specification.
For example, you can alter the sizes, strength, weight, colours and even the costs through clever structural design, additional components (such as the edging/corner profiles) and the material grade.
These features make medium-duty Correx® handling and storage totes a perfect all-round solution.
Equally suited to in-plant and line-side handling, storage totes, and even for use in your supply chain as returnable packaging, these plastic tote boxes – utilising a 4mm, double skin design – also offer the perfect balance between performance and cost.
Of course, they also offer all the benefits you would expect from Correx® material.
Correx® is lightweight (relative to their strength) and easy to handle, offering smooth sides that are easy to clean, water resistant (and to most chemicals, grease, etc.), and exceptional longevity.
Custom options for Correx® handling totes
You can tailor your Correx® handling and storage totes to your exact requirement.
Options include specifying your Correx® totes to the exact size you require. Bespoke sizes allow for much-improved transit efficiency (no more paying to ship fresh air inside a half-empty container), easier handling, minimised storage requirements, and even improved part protection.
This latter point is significant, with damaged parts and products seriously impacting your business’s success. But you can still improve this protection in several ways.
Plastic storage and handling totes can include a range of inserts and dividers. Correx® division sets help minimise parts’ movement, reducing damage caused by mishandling, for example.
Inserts can also be manufactured from Bubble-board, providing specialist surfaces to absorb knocks and even prevent surface scuffing.
Other options include vacuum-formed insert trays and foam inserts tailored to your products’ shape and size (plus the tote boxes you use).
All of this means that your custom Correx® totes can provide the optimum level of protection for your items during the distribution and handling processes.

FAQs
Common questions on handling and storage totes
Besides needing to know the technical information regarding these Correx® totes, chances are you have several other questions too.
The most common of these are covered here, but for anything else, please contact GWP at 01793 754 457 (or email correx@gwp.co.uk).
What is a tote box?
The dictionary definition for a tote box is “a box for holding and carrying tools, machine parts etc.”. However, the term is much more widespread than that, used to describe returnable transit packaging, storage boxes, and containers used for manual handling (i.e. moving components to assembly lines).
In what sizes are Correx® totes available?
Correx® totes – including the medium-duty handling/storage totes – are available in (almost) any size you require. Choosing to use Correx® allows complete control over the dimensions, enabling you to source a plastic tote that is the perfect size for your application.
Are there lightweight and heavy-duty totes available?
Besides the medium-duty Correx® containers, both lightweight plastic totes and heavy-duty containers are also available. While these provide a great range of options for almost every application (especially when considering Rapitainer and Euro Container options), Correx allows you to tailor the strength and performance to the exact level you require.
What is a Euro-sized container?
Euro containers use a standard “euro” footprint (most commonly 600 x 400 mm). This size makes them compatible with most racking, pallets, and automated handling. Any Correx® tote your business requires can also be manufactured to this standard.
What insert options are there for my totes?
You can enhance any Correx® storage or handling tote with a range of dunnage (i.e. inserts). Options include simple Correx® divisions and layer pads, dividers made from Bubbleboard (which can protect against damage to components’ surfaces), vacuum-formed trays, and custom-engineered foam inserts.
Can these be manufactured to match our corporate identity?
Correx® totes are available in a range of colours, meaning you can select one that will closely match your brand identity (or, failing that, neutral white, black and grey are also available). It is also possible to add branding and logos through external printing of your totes.
