Moulded plastic containers
If you are looking for the most durable multi-trip packaging for your supply chain, rigid plastic containers are your best option.
Rigid plastic containers are a type of sturdy, inflexible packaging. Manufactured from HDPE, PET, or polypropylene, rigid containers offer excellent strength, durability, and longevity while protecting their contents. Rigid plastic packing, such as Euro Containers and plastic parts bins, is popular across a range of industries, including automotive and aerospace supply chains, fulfilment and 3PL, and the majority of manufacturing businesses.
At GWP Correx®, we can offer a wide range of rigid plastic containers from stock. Crucially, we can also customise your packaging with several options, including foam inserts, divider sets, lids, and printing.

FAQs
What are rigid plastic containers?
Rigid plastic containers are any box, tray, bin or tote manufactured using moulded plastic. The material type and thickness ensure the containers retain their shape even when empty. This structural integrity provides the moulded plastic containers with a high degree of strength, making them popular for supply chain applications and for long-term storage.
Who manufactures rigid plastic containers?
There are several rigid plastic container manufacturers. These include SSI Schaefer, Plastor, Versatote and Manutan, amongst others. GWP Correx® stocks a range of SSI Schaefer containers due to their quality, cost, and industry-standard sizing.
Are rigid plastic containers available in custom sizes?
Rigid plastic boxes and containers are only available in standard sizes, which are typically compatible with racking, pallets, conveyors, etc. Whilst custom sizes are technically possible, the cost for tooling and setup would make this prohibitive for all but very high volumes. If you require custom-sized plastic containers, Correx® products are your best option.
Are rigid containers stronger than Correx® options?
Rigid containers are generally the strongest option if looking for reusable packaging. However, it is possible to manufacture Correx® tote boxes, trays and other packaging with similar strength if required (but in custom sizes).
Are rigid plastic containers recyclable?
Rigid plastic containers typically have a very long lifespan, eliminating the need for frequent recycling (as with single-trip corrugated packaging). However, the polypropylene material is recyclable at the end of its usable life. Specialist recycling facilities are required.
