Static dissipative foam
If you need to protect items from both ESD (electrostatic discharge) and physical damage, anti-static Ethafoam provides reliable, lasting performance.
Anti-static Ethafoam is a closed-cell, polyethene foam that contains internal anti-static agents. These agents eliminate static potential within the foam itself and dissipate ESD from other sources. Ethafoam also provides excellent cushioning protection, absorbing forces that could cause damage to fragile parts or products.
At GWP Conductive, we offer your business expertise in anti-static packaging and foam conversion. Our team of expert designers can create bespoke designs, minimise material use and lower your costs. You can, of course, source your outer ESD packaging from us as well.

FAQs
What is ESD grade Ethafoam?
ESD grade Ethafoam is an anti-static polyethene foam that provides a controlled dissipation of electrostatic charges emitted from other neighbouring materials and personnel during handling, assembly, and transit of the product.
How does anti-static Ethafoam work?
The anti-static grade Ethafoam contains internal anti-static agents that eliminate static potential within the foam itself. It also dissipates electrostatic discharges from other sources (e.g., generated by handling, neighbouring components, and the external atmosphere) and meets various standards, such as EIA-541, ANSI, and EOS/ESD.
What is anti-static Ethafoam used for?
Due to its consistent, reliable performance, anti-static Ethafoam is a popular choice for manufacturers of high-value, delicate and static-sensitive equipment. It can be specified to enhance virtually any Corstat® and anti-static packaging products.
Is Ethafoam available in standard grades?
Ethafoam is available in standard (i.e., non-anti-static) grades. Non-ESD Ethafoam is a popular choice for applications such as end caps, lined boxes, and composite packaging.
Is Ethafoam recyclable?
Currently, Polyethene foams are only recyclable at specialist processing plants. It is not presently accepted in UK kerbside collections.
