Full product info on SPI cases
Don’t know your Sprint from your Glide? Trying to work out the difference between Pounce and Jump? All this just sound like complete nonsense?
Even if you are familiar with the SPI case range, the below article aims to answers any potential questions you may have, ultimately helping you to decide whether you should use these at your business.
Features, applications, options and more can all be found below.

What Are SPI Cases?
Plastic carry cases ideal for presenting samples
With their playful names and bright colour options (with 8 different hues in total), SPI cases have quickly become a popular option amongst many businesses.
Manufactured in the Netherlands by Maxado, SPI Cases boast a very sturdy and solid construction. This is achieved through not only the design of the cases, but also the high quality, injection moulded polypropylene material too.
The material used in the production also provides two of the cases main benefits.

Firstly, the Polypropylene is what is described as “environmentally neutral”. What this means in practice is that SPI Cases are amongst the most environmentally friendly options available today (the material can also be recycled too).
Secondly, the cases are resistant to most chemicals and, crucially, oils and petrol-based chemicals. Substances of this type can often degrade plastic carry cases, so this can be a key benefit for certain industries / applications.
Available in a range of 8 sizes – each with their own unique name – the Maxado SPI case range provides a wealth of options and standard features that makes it a solid choice for a wide range of industries.
SPI Case Features
Key features and usability of Maxado sample cases
All of the Maxado cases available through GWP provide numerous features to enhance both the overall usability and the aesthetic quality too. Please see below for further details.

A
Twin Catches: The two catches – that operate independently from one another – ensure that SPI cases keep your equipment, tools or samples well secured. The colours of these catches can also be mixed and matched with the cases body, providing a large number of varying combinations.
B
Integral Handle: The moulded handle is integral the cases body. Whilst this helps maintain very competitive price points, it also ensures greater longevity too. It is comfortable to use as well.
C
Smooth Branding Area: SPI Cases provide a very large area to the front and rear that can be branded in a number of ways. This includes simple labelling, as well as screen or digital printing, and even in mould labelling (subject to order volumes).
D
Metal Hinges: These carry cases feature metal hinges, providing a smoother operation and longer lifespan than some plastic / living hinge designs.
E
Lid Stay Mechanism: One of the key advantages provided by SPI cases is it’s integrated lid stay. Also referred to as a “ladder hinge”, it is effectively a removable wedge that allows the case to remain open at 90 degrees independently. This makes it ideal for the display of product samples.
F
Moulded Feet: The moulded feet allow for the SPI cases to be stood vertically, aiding storage and handling.

Example uses for SPI Cases
Despite their unusual naming convention, SPI cases are serious contender for use in a wide range of applications and industries.
Please see below for a brief overview of where these cases prove particularly popular.
Sales Meetings / Sample Presentation
There is one key feature of the SPI cases that makes them perfect for the presentation of samples during sales meetings / pitches – the “ladder hinge” that allows the cases to remain open on their own.
This simple addition means that the cases can be stood to present products in the lid whilst your sales team continue discussions with clients and make relevant presentations etc.
As with numerous other sample cases, SPI can be enhanced specifically for use by sales reps too. This includes adding custom foam inserts for even better display (and protection) of product samples, as well as colour options and printing to ensure a consistent brand appearance.

Service Engineers
Although they have an appearance of more lightweight plastic case, SPI are surprisingly durable and strong.
This makes an option for use by service engineers and other site operatives who take tools out on jobs etc. They are also a great choice here if you have a limited budget and / or they are not likely to encounter any particularly rough handling.
Service Equipment / Automotive
The unique polypropylene material used by SPI cases is resistant to most chemicals and crucially – oil and petrol-based substances.
This can make a good choice for storing tools that may become oily or covered in fuel during normal use. This could include specialist diagnostic equipment for automotive, aviation and other servicing applications.
Medical / Clean Room
The smooth sides of the case (which allows easy cleaning) and its resistance to most chemicals can make SPI case suitable for storing pharmaceutical equipment and even medical devices.
The fact that the cases can be printed with important warnings and user instructions also provides another key feature for cases used in these types of applications.
