Official SKB case distributors
Source customised, SKB 3i waterproof utility cases with foam for your business
The SKB iSeries is the most widely used of all SKB cases. Available in over 60 sizes and six colour options, iSeries cases use an ultra-high-strength polypropylene copolymer resin. This material makes SKB 3i cases crush-proof, impact resistant, and fully waterproof. iSeries utility cases are ideal for protecting tools, equipment and electronics.
This performance – and a range of great features that aid usability – ensures almost any industrial business should consider using SKB cases. Besides industrial use, SKB cases are particularly suitable for military, marine, audiovisual and engineering applications.
As the individual responsible for sourcing protective cases for your business, doing so from GWP Protective can provide you with numerous benefits. Besides being an official UK distributor of SKB cases, GWP can customise any iSeries case you require to include foam inserts, printing, mounting for electronics, and more.
Why use SKB iSeries cases?
Ultra tough waterproof utility cases in a vast range of sizes
Whilst SKB is perhaps best known for their musical instrument cases and their range of rotationally moulded cases, arguably their most popular case is the iSeries.
Being injection moulded, SKB iSeries cases utilise a unique, ultra-high strength polypropylene which is up to 20 – 30% lighter than alternative waterproof cases. The material is also as much as 2.5 times stronger.
Besides the strength and weight advantages, the ultra-high-strength polypropylene copolymer resin provides exceptional performance. SKB iSeries cases are resistant to crushing and impact and unaffected by solvents, most chemicals, fungus, and corrosion.
iSeries cases are, of course, fully water and dust proof, effectively meaning your essential kit and equipment benefit from the highest protection levels.
Another key selling point of SKB iSeries cases is the wide range of models available. With almost 60 different size options, it is one of the largest currently available (rivalling the other established case option, Peli Protector).
A range of features complements the case’s performance. The cushion grip handles on three sides (which snap down and are rubber over-moulded) make handling exceptionally comfortable. The patented “trigger release” latch system also makes opening and closing the cases quick and easy. Pressure relief valves, wheels on larger cases and a manufacturer’s guarantee are all standard too.
SKB iSeries features
A range of features to improve usability and protection
Pressure relief valve
The Ambient pressure equalisation valve (tested to MIL-STD 810G) equalises pressure between the inside and outside of the case, protecting the contents and preventing “vacuum lock” (which can make the cases very difficult to open).
Cushion grip handle
The rubber over-moulded cushion grip handle is incredibly comfortable, even carrying heavy equipment long distances. The handles also “snap down” to minimise the cases’ overall size when not being used.
Ultra tough construction
The ultra-tough polypropylene material used in the construction of the iSeries range is as much as 30 percent lighter than similar cases whilst being two and half times stronger too.
Moulded in hinge
The metal hinges of the SKB cases are moulded directly into the polypropylene material used to manufacture the cases, providing a much more durable and long-lasting (yet easy to use) solution.
Gasket seal
The iSeries cases feature a completely water and dust tight (and even submersible) gasket seal. The seal passes the tests required for the MIL-STD 810G standard.
Trigger release latch
The patented trigger release latches on the iSeries cases are incredibly easy to use, maintaining an extremely secure and robust closure.
Padlock loops
The moulded padlock loops can accommodate locks with a shackle of up to 5/16″. This feature ensures your contents remain secure when you are not with the case (i.e. when in storage, aircraft hold etc.).
Wheels
The roller blade style wheels are standard on larger cases, along with a telescopic handle, to allow for more effortless movement and handling
Custom SKB cases
Enhance the performance of your iSeries cases with a range of optional extras
Fully bespoke Plastazote inserts, manufactured in the UK by GWP, completely eliminate damage caused by mishandling.
Perfect for protecting lower value or more robust items, foam lining is a low-cost alternative to custom Plastazote foam inserts.
Print and branding
Add branding to the exterior surfaces of your SKB iSeries cases using digital or screen printing or through cut vinyl graphics.
Lid organiser
The available lid organisers (screw-in and velcro options) are configurable to improve the usability of your cases.
SKB iSeries case foam
Supplied in multiple layers, cubed foam inserts (also known as Pick N Pluck)are an easy to modify option for low volume requirements.
Bezels
SKB bezels use a slot in mounting system and screw fixings (whilst retaining waterproof properties) to allow for mounting electronics.
Shoulder strap
Shoulder straps are available for the majority of the smaller SKB cases, with a minimum length of 106 cm and a max length of 201 cm.
Tailored foam inserts
Available for all SKB
Any SKB case (alongside other case options) can be enhanced with bespoke foam inserts

SKB iSeries performance and testing
Military standard testing results and accreditations
Taking their lead from Peli Protector cases, the use of SKB cases is widespread in military forces worldwide. The popularity of SKB cases includes not only the iSeries range but also the rack mount and roto-moulded options.
The high and consistent levels of protection of the SKB 3i cases make them ideal in scenarios where damaged equipment could spell disaster.
Their use in extreme environments is partly attributable to the significant testing programme all SKB cases are subjected to.
The water and dust tight, submersible design (MIL-C-4150J), automatic ambient pressure equalisation valve (MIL-STD-648C) and IP67 rating highlight how the cases keep their contents dry, safe and secure.
The ultra-high-strength polypropylene copolymer resin used in the manufacture provides resistance to crushing and impact and is unaffected by solvents, most chemicals, fungus and corrosion (MIL-STD 810G).
And last but not least, the SKB iSeries cases boast a full lifetime guarantee.
- Waterproof and dust tight (MIL-STD 810G)
- Resistant to UV, solvents, corrosion, fungus and impact damage (MIL-STD 810G)
- IP67 Rated
- Drop test (ASTM D 256-05a)

What size SKB iSeries cases are there?
There are nearly 60 different sizes to choose from in the SKB iSeries range. The smallest of these is 197 x 54 x 32 mm, whilst the largest is 1521 x 457 x 203 mm (internal dimensions).
Can I add custom foam to SKB cases?
Custom foam inserts, manufactured from Plastazote, can be used to enhance any of the SKB iSeries cases. These inserts can provide specific levels of protection for any sensitive, delicate, or expensive items.
What colour SKB 3i cases are there?
SKB cases are available in a wide range of colours. Options include black, green, tan, yellow, orange – and uniquely – bright pink (the idea being it is easy to see the cases and prevent theft).
What SKB case alternatives are there?
SKB iSeries compete in a very crowded market. The most well-known SKB alternative are Peli cases (Protector and Storm case in particular), although other options include B&W, Explorer, Nanuk, Hardigg, and several others).
Have SKB 3i cases been tested?
SKB iSeries cases have been extensively tested. This includes MIL-C-4150J (water / dust resistance), MIL-STD-648C (pressure equalisation) and impact / solvent / fungus resistance (MIL-STD-810F).
What are SKB cases made from?
SKB iSeries cases are injection moulded using an ultra-high-strength polypropylene copolymer resin. This specific material is unique to SKB and, as well as exceptional durability, produces a clean and attractive appearance.

Foam design expertise
Being one of the UK’s longest-established foam converters, GWP allows you to source your SKB cases and foam inserts together – improving fit, compatibility and quality.
Widest range
Besides being official SKB case suppliers, GWP Protective allows you to select from the most comprehensive range of branded and bespoke protective cases available from a single UK supplier
Genuinely impartial advice
With more than 30 years of experience in supplying all types of cases, you can benefit from expert and genuinely impartial advice on the best case for your specific application.
Customising your SKB cases
SKB cases offer many potential customisation options straight out of the box.
Custom options include bezel kits for mounting electronics within the case, shoulder straps, divider sets, and cubed foam inserts (whereby you can easily modify the foam yourself).
However, you can also specify custom foam inserts for your chosen SKB iSeries case(s) that are tailored explicitly to your product. These inserts, manufactured from Plastazote, can also provide a very specific (indeed calculated) level of cushioning protection during transit.
From an aesthetic point of view, you can select from the standard case colours available or completely bespoke hues. However, custom colours are only available if your order volume is high enough.
Your foam inserts can match your brand colours too, whilst assisting with tool and product identification.
Laser etching on the foam can also add logos and instructions. You can also enhance the exterior of the cases with screen printing, digital printing, or labelling (including vinyl wraps) as a cheaper option.
Official UK distributors of SKB cases, including 3i range
Any company could sell you a SKB iSeries case (or any of the many waterproof case options). So why get yours from GWP Protective?
Well, there are several compelling reasons.
The first is that GWP has been in business for over 25 years. In this time, GWP has helped thousands of companies like yours in sourcing the most suitable protective case for their application, product, or industry.
Furthermore, being an independent company means choosing from a broader range of cases than you can find elsewhere. You can also benefit from honest, impartial (and free) advice on the best option for your specific requirements.
Perhaps even more important than this, though, is having the ability to source case and foam inserts from a single supplier. But why is this important?
Crucially, the fit and compatibility between case and foam are significantly improved compared with sourcing them separately. Buying together also reduces costs, minimises admin, and lowers lead times.
Add this to an experienced design team, services such as just-in-time supply and dedicated customer support staff, and the choice of where to get your cases from seems obvious.
