Selecting a Carry Case
Detailed info on the Hofbauer Maxibag case range
Sourcing plastic sample / carry cases for your business? Considering the Hofbauer Maxibag range? Wish there was a guide or article that covered all the key points of this specific plastic case range?
This is exactly what the following guide is set out to do.
Proving all the information you could need on whether Maxibags would be a good option for your business – including features, applications, options and more – it allows you to make an informed decision.

What are Hofbauer Maxibag Cases
Larger sized yet slimline cases
Unlike most plastic cases of this type, Hofbauer Maxibags are not manufactured from polypropylene, but instead from an ABS material (Acrylnitril-Butadien-Styrol). Besides providing a point of difference, the main benefit of this is that provides the cases with improved toughness and durability.
But this is just the start of the range of features and benefits that Hofbauer have crammed into these cases.
Available in 21 sizes, it makes Maxibags one of the largest ranges in terms of the dimensions available. Focusing on larger case sizes (for smaller options Hofbauer would recommend the Minibag range instead), and coupled with the tough material, this makes Maxibag cases a good option for mid-level / duty equipment transit.

The cases exhibit a square, angular design that, as well as providing a contemporary appearance with clean lines, offers other benefits too.
This includes the internal space of the cases being well optimised, allowing for a large collection of items to be stored. It also makes adding custom foam inserts relatively simple, which in turn considerably enhances both the aesthetics and protection offered.
The range of 3 colours, contrasting catches and various branding options also ensure that the case can be tailored to your brand identity too.
Maxibag Case Features
A focus on usability, appearance and protection
Hofbauer’s cases have a reputation for both quality and the range of features included as standard – and Maxibags are no different. Plus, again in traditional Hofbauer style, Maxibags also provide a distinct appearance from both the other options from the German manufacturer, and the alternative carry cases available.
Please see the image below and explanatory points for further info on the Maxibag features.

A
Catches: The snap shut catches are the only part of the case that are independent from the main body. This allows them to operate smoothly and easily, whilst remaining secure over many hundreds / thousands of uses. It also means that the colours can be mixed or matched to the main colour of your Maxibag case.
B
Angular Design: The square, angular design of the case provides more than just a unique appearance. The clean lines actually allow for the case to maximise the internal volume, which in turn can mean improved efficiency of space. In real terms, it allows you to store more items together in a single case.
C
Moulded Handle: The handle of the Maxibag cases is moulded directly into the body of the case. Whilst this further aids the streamlined appearance of the case, it also minimises the overall footprint of the cases and makes the handles very durable and long lasting too.
D
Branding Area: The excellent surface finish of the Maxibag cases allows you to easily add branding in a number of ways. This includes everything from the simple addition of labels or vinyl lettering, through to screen printing of graphics or even direct digital printing.
E
Moulded Feet: Hofbauer Maxibag carry cases have feet moulded into the base of the case. This allows for the cases to be stood vertically, minimising space required for storage and aiding presentations as well.
F
Living Hinge: The reliable, living hinge provides easy operation over many uses, whilst helping to maintain the sleek, streamlined appearance of the cases.

Applications
Typical use examples for Hofbauer Maxibag
Whilst there a number of cases that provide a “bridge” between the regular plastic carry cases and the heavier duty options (such as WAG Heavy, Hofbauer Megabag etc.), there is less said about the cases that do the same between the lightweight sample cases and mid-range options.
Maxibags arguably fall into this category, being equally suited to presentations as it is to transporting equipment.
Sales Meetings
The benefits of using sample cases for your sales teams to use in sales meetings should be obvious. But if it isn’t, doing so can not only aid the running of any presentation, but also protect samples and project a professional appearance to potential clients too.
Hofbauer Maxibags are a great choice for this, especially when enhanced with bespoke foam inserts. This allows for any samples to be more easily retrieved, stored and presented.
Maxibags can also have branding added to help drive home brand recall, with even the foam inserts offering branding potential through laser etching.

Service Engineers
The use of ABS instead of Polypropylene – which gives a somewhat tougher finish – means that Hofbauer Maxibag cases are a great mid-range option for protecting tools and equipment.
This is particularly useful for service engineers or staff installing equipment out on site, that will need access to a selection of tools, parts and equipment.
Maxibags with foam inserts not only offer good levels of protection for these items but can also help efficiency (items are easy to find), with the use of tool control foam also helping to prevent items being left on site.

Medical / Specialist Devices
Hofbauer Maxibag cases can be used for medical, pharmaceutical and clean room applications where hygiene is a primary concern.
The cases smooth surfaces allow them to be easily cleaned, whilst they can also be easily printed with important instructions or warnings on how to use the equipment stored within.
As a result, Maxibags are often chosen for protecting (and as part of the sale of) specialist medical devices.
Small Parts Storage
The final common use for Maxibag cases is the arguably one of the most basic of tasks – the storage of small parts and equipment. This can range from anything including screws and fixings, socket sets, screwdrivers, specific parts or components and much else besides. Storing such items in a Maxibag case can help reduce stock wastage through loss or damage.
