What Are Zarges K470 Cases?
Original (and best?) prefabricated aluminium cases
Zarges K470 aluminium cases / containers are the original range designed and manufactured by Zarges in Germany.
Originally created way back in 1950, the success of these cases means they remain virtually unchanged today. They have a glowing reputation for quality, durability, ease of use, and great features.
As a well-established range, it also means there is a much wider choice of sizes than many other aluminium case types, with 25 options as standard. There are also specialist cases for where full water resistance is required (IP 65 and IP 67 rated versions) as well as cases certified for carrying hazardous goods (and even lithium batteries).

Their use for transporting sports kit and equipment has also grown significantly over the past 10 – 20 years, with their light weight and easy clean surfaces making them ideal for transporting both clean and dirty kit. These properties also make them a great choice as a more traditional equipment / protective case.
As the premium offering with thin the Zarges aluminium case range, K470 containers sit alongside other options including Euroboxes, K410 and Mitraset. All of these can be enhanced by GWP Protective in terms of exterior branding or custom foam inserts.

Applications
Typical uses for Zarges K470 containers
Although aluminium cases such as the Zarges K470 can be used for a huge range of applications, there a number of scenarios / industries to which the use of aluminium cases lend themselves particularly well to.
The below section provides a brief overview of each of these.
Expeditions / Extreme Conditions
Zarges K470 are a great option if you require cases that will be used in extreme conditions. Aluminium cases will not become brittle at low temperatures (as moulded plastic can), making them ideal for use in very cold environments.
Similarly, aluminium cases have a much higher operating temperature than plastic (which softens and eventually begins to melt), making them suitable for hot climates too.
Whilst this makes them suitable for expeditions, it also means they are ideal for any application where there may be significant fluctuations in temperatures too.

Air Freight / Flight Cases
The light weight of aluminium case such as Zarges K470 means they are frequently used for shipping items via air freight.
Costs for shipping in this manner can often be decided by weight rather than volume, giving aluminium cases a significant advantage over traditional flight cases, wooden crates, and the moulded plastic transit options.
This light weight does not sacrifice strength / protection however, ensuring that any items being shipped will still have excellent levels of protection during transit.

Kit Skips
One of the most popular uses for aluminium cases is that of kit or travel skips.
In fact, Zarges K470 cases are favoured by all of the Premier League football teams, as well as clubs in lower divisions and throughout Europe too. Other sports to widely use these cases include basketball, hockey, rugby and athletics (to name just a few).
The lightweight nature of these cases is a benefit here too, making them easy to handle even when loaded with kit. Manoeuvrability can also be enhanced further through using trolleys / castors / wheels.
However, another key benefit is that the smooth sides of the aluminium containers make kit skips easy to keep clean. This is particularly important where muddy kit needs to transported back from away games for example. Zarges K470 cases also offer various branding options, meaning that cases can display club crests and branding too.
Service Engineers
Many businesses will have staff that take important tools or equipment out onto site. This kit needs protecting (and often organising too).
Zarges K470 cases are a great option for this.
Their light weight makes them easy to handle, whilst they can also be secured / locked to protect items and prevent theft when not in use.
Adding custom foam inserts can also have a big impact here too, adding exceptional levels of cushioning protection to the cases, as well as helping to organise parts. It can even prevent items being left on site (using shadow foam).
Wheels and castors allow for easy movement of larger cases, whilst the stacking corners also means multiple cases can be taken out safely in a single vehicle (and stored efficiently when not in use).
