GWP Packaging supply corrugated cardboard for pupil project at Covingham Primary School

GWP Packaging has helped pupils at local school, Covingham Park Primary, with a project to remember soldiers who died in World War One.

GWP Packaging Commercial Manager Adele Neale was approached by Julie Causton from the school with the request to supply some cardboard for the project, which GWP Packaging was able to deliver within a few days of the request being made.

Following previous projects with Swindon College and Lainsemead Primary School, GWP Packaging was more than happy to help and play a small part in this important subject for the pupils.

The Project

Each pupil in the upper school at Covingham was set the task of researching a soldier that fought and died during World War One. The pupils then made a cross from the corrugated cardboard that GWP supplied to commermorate the soldier, including decorating with the soldiers name, poppies and other relevant items following the research.

Thank you so much for your help with with our search for cardboard. The children produced some very good work, of which I’m sure they will remember doing for a long time.

How GWP Packaging helped

Following initial contact from Covingham Park Primary School, GWP Packaging sourced and supplied thirty sheets of white E flute board. The sheets were 775mm x 766mm, meaning a total surface area of approximately eighteen square metres was supplied.

These boards were then transported to the school, with enough being available for the entire upper school to take part in the project.

Comments from the pupils

Following the completion of the project, a number of the pupils who took part kindly wrote a letter of thanks to GWP Packaging.

We are writing to you to thank you for the cardboard donation. We really appreciate it and we made crosses with the names of soldiers that died in World War One. My soldier was called Richard Hunt Dennis Morse.

Joshua | Covingham Park Primary

We just wanted to say Thank You for giving us the cardboard. We really appreciate it. We haven’t been able to make the crosses without you.
