Cricklade Community Lights Team

The Cricklade Community Lights Team alongside the Cricklade Scouts, organise the annual Christmas lights switch-on including a carol service which, creates a festive atmosphere whereby the local community gather to share the experience together.

This fun filled event includes a carol service, live music, a choir and a visit from Santa therefore each year over a thousand local residents congregate together to get into the Christmas spirit.

Previous Years

Each year, the Cricklade Christmas Light event turn out becomes larger and larger –  demonstrating the success and popularity of the event.

Highlights from previous years include; children’s entertainment, carol services, children’s magic shows, The Cricklade Band performing live music and the Community choir singing in the high street.

But the fun does not stop there…

Alongside the arranged entertainment there have also been surprise visits from Santa, Anna and Elsa (the cast of Frozen) and even a magic show! An event full of excitement for the little ones!

Adults were also set to enjoy a fun filled evening including a live performance from a Jazz Band, Christmas rides and various stalls with festive food and drinks.

Cricklade Christmas Lights 2016 Entertainment

As part of this years entertainment Cricklade’s community lights are hosting their very own Cricklade’s got talent!

The aim is to create a fun event with the participation of the communities children, giving them a stage to get into the Christmas spirit and show off their special talents.

This event will take place from 17:30pm, with the Christmas Tree light switch on commencing at 18:15pm. Santa will then arrive on his sleigh at 18:40pm. If we’re lucky there may even be the appearance of snow this year!

Please note that the High Street will be closed as of 16:00pm to traffic.

Also featured this year

The Cricklade Band who perform live music at private functions and local events, also support the Cricklade Christmas Lights switch-on every year by providing music to add to the merry atmosphere.

Originally formed in 1887, the Cricklade band have established recognition in the local community for their live music and are reputable for their services at local functions, parties and social events. The band pride themselves on being an up-to-date, entertaining community band and class themselves as a brass big-band.

Come along to the Christmas light switch on to watch them spreading Christmas cheer.
