As fantastic winners of the Wiltshire Environmental Business of the Year award for three consecutive years, the management team of Great Western is using its expertise by joining the panel of judges for this year's event.Great Western Packaging celebrated its 15th anniversary in August this year.We were presented with another award commending our high levels of service in April this year. The much appreciated award was presented out of the blue by one of our customers for 'Continuous Excellence in Service'.
Sweet Reward For Great Western Packaging
Wiltshire’s Great Western Packaging Company has won a prestigious award for designing an innovative new packaging system for a top U.K confectionery manufacturer.
The Cricklade based firm have received a Silver Starpack award for their ‘Transit to Point of Sale Packaging System’ for Bendicks Chocolates, in the display and collation category of the Institute of Packaging’s annual Starpack competition. Entry into the competition allows The Institute of Packaging to promote the best standards of packaging design and manufacture to successful participants.
“This award further underlines Great Western’s ongoing commitment to be at the forefront of the design and development of innovative, cost-effective, functional packaging solutions, for all industry sectors,” commented design manager Michael Poynter, who received the award during a special ceremony at a top London hotel.
The novel design won praise from the judges not only for its cost effectiveness and product protection, but also for the well thought out design of the packaging, which has provided outstanding visual and shelf impact once in store.
In the month of June Great Western Packaging celebrated the arrival of two new machines to the Chelworth factory. The half a million pound investment has paid for a new TCY casemaker and a new TCY rotary diecutter. The addition of these machines to the ever growing business has paved the way to better output and quality of product.
